Joyce (Hoosier Anchorwoman!)

|Occupation||Various (depending on alias)|
Joyce is a fictional character in the adult animated sitcom Hoosier Anchorwoman! and Queen of the Willis, voiced by Ava Zinn. The character was created and designed by Ava Zinn. Joyce is a centuries-old greyish white cow living with the Kendall family, around whom the show revolves. Having lived in Indiana since crashing in Niles, Michigan in 1897, Joyce came to live with the Kendalls after rescuing main character Kendra Kendall at a farm four years prior to the beginning of Hoosier Anchorwoman.
Joyce began the series as a sensitive pushover who is often taken advantage of, cheated, and ridiculed. Over time, the character has become a sociopath, exhibiting increasingly cruel, selfish, devious, and depraved behavior, although the Kendall family are curiously oblivious to his nature despite being her most frequent victims, with the sole exception of Kendra, who is the only Kendall family member aware of Joyce's malicious nature. In early episodes of Hoosier Anchorwoman, Joyce is disallowed from leaving the Kendall house in order to conceal her being a cow. This restriction is soon abandoned and Joyce begins adopting disguises and fictitious personas in order to have a life outside the house.
Joyce's personas have become a major plot device, with her myriad alter egos frequently being the subject or facilitator of a main story or subplot. This also helps to amplify her pansexuality and androgynous nature, which varies dependent on the plot situation and persona she has adopted. Aside from catalyzing the plot or subplot with her various personas, and despite her increasingly evident self-interest, she often serves to counsel Hoosier Anchorwoman's main characters, by humorously affirming or bluntly disregarding their opinions.
Joyce is selfish, cynical, cruel, and thin-skinned. Having her feelings hurt usually spurs the creation of her egos and schemes. Joyce typically displays a lighthearted, carefree temperament while at the same time engaging in her freakish grossness, outrageous malice, and rascally shenanigans. Crude and brazen, Joyce has no qualms with randomly saying and doing whatever is on her mind, having little to no sympathy for anyone who might suffer as a result of her actions, and regularly misleading and finagling others to achieve her desired ends. However, according to the Hoosier Anchorwoman episode "Miles 911", Joyce is not this unpleasant by choice; her species of cattle must let all unpleasantries out, for if they don't, it will turn into poison and kill them.
Ih the Kendall family when she saved Kendra's life back when Joyce was a fugitive of a dairy farm (four years prior to Hoosier Anchorwoman's beginnings). Feeling she owed Joyce a life debt because of this, Kendra rescued her from capture and allowed her to live in her home. Kendra has allowed this in defiance of her employers in Michiana Falls and Quillsville. Joyce now covertly lives in the Kendall home. Joyce uses the Kendall's back porch as her hideout/room/bar.
After Kendra took Joyce in for saving his life, she felt that it would endanger her and the rest of her family if it were to be discovered that Joyce is an cow and living with them. Consequently, Kendra forbade her from leaving the house when the series first began, even in disguise. Confined to the house in the first couple of seasons, Joyce was miserable and malcontent. However, Joyce is able to skillfully use disguises to exist in the outside world, which has become a major plot device in later episodes and on Queen of the Willis. Adding to this, she's created countless alter egos to go along with them.
Joyce has, however, abused this practice, leading numerous lives and outrageously deceiving numerous people. In fact, some of Joyce's characters are in prison, while others are widely despised, and others somehow have full-fledged human families and are even married; several of her characters somehow have birth children while others are graduates of Notre Dame University. Joyce also uses several of these personas to act in a criminal manner, as several of her alter egos have been seen to engage in robbery, sexual assault, police corruption, identity theft, drug trafficking, child abuse and with one persona even admitting to being wanted "for a series of prostitute murders".
As the series and the revival of Queen of the Willis has progressed, Joyce's personas have developed their own lives that even she can be unaware of and her control has been shown to be tenuous at best. Despite her numerous disguises consisting of only a different set of garment and hair with no effort to disguise her white skin, non-human face and body features (with some exceptions, like additional body weight, wrinkles), Joyce has been capable of deceiving virtually every single person she interacts with without ever being discovered as an cow; not even by Kendra's colleagues from CBS 28 Michiana Falls or CBS 40 Quillsville, who according to her, have "an entire floor" looking for Joyce. The Kendall family in Michiana Falls and Willis family in Quillsville are the only exception; however, for each member of the family there is one individual alter ego they can not recognize as Joyce. On top of that, Joyce has been sent to the hospital several times over the course of the series, and medical personnel, for some reason, have never found out that she's not a human.
