Straitlaced gift saleswoman and family woman, Ava Willis, is accused of neglecting her dog, Timothy "Rags", and killing her brother, Albert, who had drowned during a a family outing at Quillsville Pool and rumors spread that Ava beat up a teenaged lifeguard (when really he just yelled at her for not saving her brother). Meanwhile, Ava's friends, conspiracy nut Melissa Rose, down-and-out Army hair stylist Tiffani Kendall, and fast-talking manizer Anna Pamhouser, try to fix Ava's SUV, while Baxter Crawford (Ava's nephew) moves in with the Willis after his mother get sent to jail over a domestic disturbance at Quillsville Pool.
