Character
Development
Queen of the Willis creator Ava Zinn had watched Indianapolis telvision news for years and found Willis' character and performance as a news presenter, she created the Diane Willis character for Queen of the Willis.[1]
“ | The character we've created is kind of this alternate-universe Diane Willis where she's not only a news anchor in Indy but also related to one of the main characters, and we deliberately have not made any references to RTV6 Indianapolis, because we like keeping that separate. It's the obvious place to go. We tried it; we thought it would be funny to do something different. People like John Stehr and Clairce Tinsley who have taken whacks at this sort of thing — there's a precedent for it, news anchors having lives of their own. | ” |
