It was announced on June 23, 2014 that Matthewson was confirmed as a moderator of both the American and British versions of Vote for the Girls. In a interview with Fiona Johnson in San Fransisco, Matthewson revealed she had accepted a moderator panel role on Vote for the Girls USA and Vote for the Girls UK.
On July 18, 2016, Tracia Matthewson did what other female television personalities almost never did: renounced hair straightening products and began wearing her hair curly, which was its natural hair style by that time.[3] Fellow female television personalities Traci Davidson, WTOR colleague Lynne Jackson, fellow Vote for the Girls moderators Holly Everman and Karly Jameson, and WEWS sportscaster Lauren Brill did the same in 2016.[4]

Ward began a relationship with Hillary Matthewson in January 2014. Ward and Matthewson met while they were both seniors at Bishop Dwenger High School in 2006. Tracia and Hillary quietly wed on June 1, 2016, during a courthouse civil ceremony in Fort Wayne. Hillary proposed to Tracia on what was to be the final episode of British version of Vote for the Girls upon becoming the winning moderator of the thirteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing airing on December 19, 2015.
