Early life and career[edit]

Alvaraz was born in Westminster, Colorado, the oldest child of Dan (1960-2014) and Kym (née Christian) Alvaraz (1967-2017). Alvaraz is the granddaughter of David "Dave" (b. 1935 d. 1993) and Julie (née Mengering) Christian (b. 1941 d. 2017) and the niece of Laverne Christian (b. 1963), Juan Christian (b. 1965), -Davina (formerly Dave Jr.) Christian (b. 1969), and Stephen (formerly Shirley) Christian (b. 1971). Her grandfather, David Christian, died of a heart attack at age 57 on April 19, 1993.

Alvaraz has three younger sisters, Haley (born on December 1, 1995), Benita Alvaraz (born September 20, 1997) and Denise Julia Alvaraz (born David Joesph Alvaraz January 11, 1999). Stephani also has a half-brother, Kenneth (born March 28, 2015).

Stephani made her debut at 22 months on KDNC (then a CBS affiliate) in December 1994 for a Christmas promo with her parents, and her grandmother. She grew up in Westminster, Colorado and graduated from Westminster High School in 2011.

Stephani made her Vote for the Girls debut with her grandmother covering the Kym Christian shooting incident.

On January 4, 2016, Stephani was adopted by her stepfather, Ava Zinn, as a result from her mother being the highest bidder in Zinn's virginity auction. One month later, Stephani gave birth to a son, Logan Dylan, on February 13, 2016, of which made her mother and stepfather grandparents, the latter of whom effectively became a step-grandparent at age 33.
