Karla Hansen
Karla Linda Hansen (born February 2, 1963) is an American newsanchorwoman, who previously served as the weeknight anchor during the 5 pm, 6 pm and 10 pm newscasts on NBC's Dallas affiliate KJTX-FTV from 2009 until 2015.
Television[edit]
Hansen began her career in Fort Wayne, Indiana as a news reporter at WPMA (channel 7), which at the time was the ABC affiliate (later NBC affiliate, now silent and is now occupied by Fox-owned WINO) in 1984. Hansen left WNDI and joined then-NBC affiliate WFAZ-FTV (now ABC O&O WMRI) in 1989. Hansen left WMRI and joined then-CBS affiliate WFTW in 1996. She remained at WFTW until 2009 when she took a job at Dallas NBC affiliate KJTX in 2009.[1] Hansen's contract with KJTX expired on December 31, 2015, and was not renewed.[2] Hansen took her fourth job in Fort Wayne, taking a job at WTOR/WXXC, the CBS/independent station.
Hansen became one of the few television correspondents in the United States, and the first (and so far only) in Fort Wayne to have served as a anchor/reporter of all "Big Four" stations in the Fort Wayne market (WFTW 1996-2009, WNDI 1984-1989, WMRI from 1989-1996, and WTOR since 2016) and a stint in another market (Dallas/Fort Worth) at different periods through one's career.
