First job[edit]
Doogan's first weatherman job was with then-NBC affiliate WFCN (now a CBS affiliate) in 1992 when he was still in college. The show was 12 News Morning where he gave the weather forecast beginning at 5:30am. At the end of the show each day, Tim went off to class. In 1998, he the station's Chief Meteorologist.
Jacksonville to Columbus[edit]
Doogan's contract with WFCN expired on May 31, 2006 and because they could not agree on the terms of a new contract, Doogan left the station and accepted a position with then-Columbus, Ohio Fox affiliate WCOL (now an ABC affiliate).[1]
Columbus to Fort Wayne[edit]
On June 20, 2014, WCOL announced that Tim Doogan's contract would not be renewed; he, along with Donna Doogan, Rhonda Spencer, Collen Rea, Kevin Stapleton, sports director Mark Childers, and reporters Katie Romo and Antonio McCall were among the 18 staffers laid off from the station due to budget cuts enforced by NoSirGifts Fantasy Television Stations.[2] This was due to J Stephenson's reign at WCOL after an infamous disagreement between Stephenson and Lynsey Everman lead to a disaster in Columbus.
On January 4, 2016, Tim Doogan took a job at Fort Wayne CBS affiliate WTOR where he began to present the weather segments for the 7:00 p.m. broadcast for CBS 41 as well as the 8 and 9 broadcasts for WXXC INNCD 47. On September 5, 2016 fellow Doogan and fellow WTOR meteorologist Alicia Williams swapped air times, with Williams presenting the weather segments for the 4:00 p.m. broadcast for CBS 41 as well as the 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. broadcasts for WXXC INNCD 47 and Doogan now presenting weather segments for the late morning and early afternoon newscasts.
Tim Doogan filled in as a guest moderator on Vote for the Girls as part of an April Fool's Day prank involving the male news staff at CBS 41 and the moderator panel of the web site in the seventh season. Doogan's CBS 41 colleagues Frank Davidson and Luka Runecraft hosted filling in for Ava Zinn and Holly Everman on the Vote for the Girls: GUYS RULE edition that aired on April 1, 2016.
In a post from his wife on September 29, 2016, it was revealed that Tim Doogan would be joining the moderator panelist on Vote for the Girls with Donna. He will be joining the purple team east moderators Rachael Passalt, Peta-Alyce Kaizer and duo moderators Danni McClannahan & Lanise White and Kathi and Karly Jameson.
Tim Doogan became the first guy in the moderator panel in the site's history as the Zinn's Villains panel is mostly males and transmales. Doogan's arrival and Nadia Lorenzo's move from the pink to purple team saw Rachael Passalt as the only remaining solo moderator on the purple team.
Family[edit]
Tim had 3 children (Shauna, Emil & Koryn) with his previous wife, Kathleen,[3] who has primary custody in Davis, California. He occasionally mentioned them in his daily weather segment.
Tim was married to the former Donna Hacken. Tim and Donna married in 2007. Donna did not change her stage name to Doogan until moving to Columbus, Ohio.
Death[edit]
Doogan died in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 2, 2019. No cause of death was reported, but it was reported by Donna Doogan it was an alcohol overdose.[4][5]
