Moderators' actions[edit]

Controversy was caused when Zinn refused to pick Fleur East and Blonde Electra upon seeing Cheryl Cole chose not to send contestant Lola Saunders through to the live shows. Saunders was considered an early favourite to win and many viewers (along with Zinn) were angry that Saunders was initially not put through to the live shows, but Zinn later changed her mind.

A spokesperson for Vote for the Girls explained: "A moderator can abstain from picking a frontrunner. [Zinn] made it clear that she would not participate and therefore abstained from choosing picks." Fans responded after the site's Twitter page showed Zinn (upon seeing that Saunders was brought back on X Factor), saw Zinn flipping her middle finger. In addition to the media outrage at Zinn's decision to abstain from making picks, there were verbal assaults and Ward also threw water over Zinn and Everman.

However, a Telly poll showed that 73% of them wanted either Zinn to be sacked for refusing to pick a frontrunner or axe Vote for the Girls UK.

Brawl on 2 November 2014[edit]

Upon seeing Lola Saunders was not saved, Tracia Ward stormed over to Lanise White and aggressively walked over the top of her, resulting in White pulling Ward down with her. White threw a punch at Ward before being tackled by Rhonda Rhodes as moderators from the USA and Australian adaptations quickly intervened. Production stopped at that point and the actions were too severe to continue production.

Zinn announced that the competition for The X Factor was called. Unlike the a similar incident between Khayla Chow and Holly Everman on the American Version, Lanise White filled in for Zinn for the remainder of the X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing.
