WZVA, UHF digital channel 43, is an ABC-affiliated fantasy television station located in Newport News, Virginia, United States, serving as the Hampton Roads area of Virginia (comprising the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, Hampton, Virginia Beach and environs), and the Outer Banks region of North Carolina. The station is owned by NoSirGifts Fantasy Television Stations subsidiary of NoSirGifts Venues, as part of a duopoly with Fox affiliate WNNV (channel 10).

Early history
Switch to ABC
On May 11, 2016, ABC announced that it would end its affiliation with the network's Norfolk affiliate, WVAN-TV (channel 2) following a dispute between the network and that station's owner Northstar over ABC's proposal to increase the amount of retransmission consent fees that its stations must divide with the network;[1] on that same day, NoSirGifts Fantasy Television Stations signed an affiliation agreement with ABC to make WZVA the market's new affiliate. The switch became official on October 1, 2016, with WVAN-FTV taking the CW affiliation from the second digital subchannel of WHVR (channel 15). With the addition of ABC programming on the station, WZVA moved most of its existing syndicated programming to a new second digital subchannel called "HRNCD 43.2".
In preparation for the move to ABC, WZVA rolled out a separate website in September 2016, after three years of being relegated to a section of WNNV's website. At the same time, the station announced that it would change its branding from "HRNCD43" to "ABC 43" and unveiled a logo (seen above) that is similar to the ABC channel number-style logo seen on WZVA's sister stations in Columbus Ohio, Memphis (both are branded as ABC 13), Boston (ABC 5), Providence (ABC 6), Milwaukee (ABC 10), and San Antionio (ABC 3) upon affiliating with the network.[2]
The first ABC program to air on WZVA was the Oklahoma State-Texas College Football game that aired at Noon Eastern Time on October 1, 2015.
WZVA became the third fantasy television station in Hampton Roads to affiliate with ABC. The network had originally aligned with WNNV from 1953 until moving to channel 2 in 1961.
