The second season of Vote for the Girls, also known as Vote for the Girls 2011 premiered on March 3, 2011, and concluded on May 25, 2011. Holly Everman, Robyn Hurd, and Ava Zinn returned as moderators.

Because of Zinn and Everman's commitments to their family obligations as well as the former's Idol audition and high school reunion and the latter mourning the death of her brother on March 31, 2011, Patrice Rafferty was brought in as a guest moderator to fill-in for Everman on March 31 and April 7. This was the final season in which all VFTG picks were chosen by Ava Zinn herself.

It was reported that Ava Zinn had wanted she was looking at a possible fourth moderator to be added. However, Zinn decided not to add a fourth moderator until the following season.

The second season saw the introduction of full episodes on YouTube for the finals during American Idol's 10th season, and the site gained its first bit of notoriety with the VFTG's first painful bankrupt with the elimination of Pia Toscano. Following Toscano's elimination, VFTG 2011 became a turning point for the web site due to its support of Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart. Zinn posted on her YouTube channel of the "VOTE FOR LAUREN AND HALEY" campaign after Toscano was voted off. Alaina and Reihart went on to last 6 more weeks in the competition, but it was largely unknown to the general public at this time, and slammed Vote for the Worst on Zinn's web site, which at the time had a section called Vote for the Girls. Lauren Alaina became Vote for the Girls' longest-running American Idol pick, which remained intact until being tied with Jessica Meuse on the 13th season of American Idol and surpassed by Jena Irene. She remained VFTG pick for 12 weeks, from top 24 to the finale. She was the runner-up, as was Crystal Bowersox in the previous season. However following the elimination of Paul McDonald, Ava Zinn announced on her YouTube channel (which at the time hosted the VFTG episodes until Zinn created the official VFTG YouTube Channel) that she would be auditioning for the following season of Idol herself. Due to Zinn's age (28), it was the first and only opportunity that Zinn would ever try out.

Moderators

Despite having almost always accompanying Zinn and Everman on VFTG promotions outside the set, Robyn Hurd was sidelined by varicose veins in late April 2011 after her wedding in Iowa City, Iowa; Hurd was forced to host Vote for the Girls while Zinn and Everman took the summer of 2011 outside the VFTG set from Marion during the SYTYCD 8 competition while Zinn had a busy schedule with her American Idol audition in Pittsburgh, the Mississinewa High School Class of 2001 Reunion, ongoing issues with her children moving away from Marion, returning to her hometown of Van Buren for the town's Popcorn Festival (which began the same night of the So You Think You Can Dance 8 finale) and Holly Everman was also dealing with her brother's death and eventually her own alcoholism following Toscano's elimination; Robyn Hurd was the only VFTG moderator and Patrice Rafferty filled in for Zinn and Everman for the SYTYCD make-up competition with the site supporting of eventual SYTYCD 8 winner Melanie Moore and runner-up Sasha Mallory. For Matthewson, the situation was agonizing.

Epilogue

Iveta Lukosiute from So You Think You Can Dance's eighth season appeared as a Vote for the Girls pick for the twelfth series of Strictly Come Dancing on the United Kingdom version's second series chosen by Nermal Everman - only to end up finishing 12th place and Nermal Everman without any remaining Strictly Come Dancing picks.

The American Idol season 10 competition appeared as the first Classic Vote for the Girls episode airing on December 9, 2014 in place of seventh season semi-final result of The Voice as DaNica Shirey's elimination was declined by the Moderators' Veto and sparing the site another Vote for the Gills loss on December 2, 2014.

Lauren Alaina from American appeared on the twenty-eighth season of Dancing with the Stars.
