The moderator line-up was revealed on the VFTG Australia Twitter page. At the time of the Australia version of VFTG's announcement, Ava Zinn, whom also hosts the original American and British versions, was the only confirmed moderator for the site. She later said that she was taking the choices of who to join her on the site very seriously, saying, "It's pointless hiring moderators who don't know anything about the music business, yet demonstrates passion about voting for female contestants. I'll probably go and find someone who did what I did for a living. I was an host 10 years." Eventually, American feminist Khayla Chow and American transwoman Kathi Jameson (ironically Chow and Jameson also were moderators on Vote for the Girls UK, as well as Jameson on the original American version) are confirmed to join Zinn in the Vote for the Girls Australia moderator panel.

Following her arrest on 12 March 2015, while Ava Zinn in negotiation to find a way to keep the original American Vote for the Girls in production during a remodel of the Vote for the Girls set (of which will serve for the Australian version) resulting in Zinn (and the VFTG staff) being displaced, and was not willing to have production interrupted, defending her moderator's contract.  Zinn, irate, stressed that under the terms of Zinn's contract--as per Vote for the Girls moderator rules--be promptly present on the performance (and/or results) night to its conclusion and record the site's presentation of the results show(s) night both at the home location of Aeverine Zinn Holdings (where the Australian version of Vote for the Girls will be taped), and cannot be interrupted, delayed, or joined in progress for any reason. Zinn insisted that she wanted to do a temporary transfer of the networks feed, resulting in no interruptions. Upon hearing this, Zinn said “I want this done the way I want to handle this with and ZERO INTERRUPTIONS!”, and during the comment, pounded three times saying, “ZERO INTERRUPTIONS!” and got into the official’s face as the available resolutions Zinn was offered did not meet Zinn’s standards and swearing at the official. Zinn was ejected and was initially given a one-show suspension and a year probation from NoSirGifts. As a result, Zinn agreed to delay the launch for a second time until August 2015 . Additionally, the web site's moderator panel will participate in the fifteenth series of Dancing with the Stars upon the web site's launch regardless of the outcome of the fourth series of The Voice.

On 29 June 2015, it was reported that Everman had been removed from the show and was set to be replaced by Lanise White. Reports varied over whether she was fired because Australian audiences had trouble understanding her accent, because of a lack of chemistry between her and the other moderators, or that she had stepped down herself due to homesickness.<!------------ Everman's departure was officially confirmed on June 6 in a statement from the web site, which also confirmed White as her replacement. Zinn would then serve as the sole presenter. On August 5, 2011, Zinn announced that the reason why Everman left was because Zinn offered her the job in the American version and she felt that Everman would have been comfortable there with her auntie. Zinn said that if her departure had anything to do with her not getting along with the moderator panel then Zinn would not be hosting the show. ------------------> <!----------- Everman later revealed in a 2016 interview that she had decided to quit the show of her accord. -------------------->

Structure of Vote for the Girls
 +
There are usually four stages in the competition process in every season, the first stage being the opening round at the beginning of each reality talent competition season. In this opening round stage, potential Vote for the Girls-supported contestants are shown auditioning in front of the judges and this is the audition shown on the television reality talent competition.
 +

 +

 +
The host and moderators, all female or transgender females, choose frontrunners of female contestants through the opening round (usually the audition stage). Each moderator has the length of the auditioner's performance (about one minute) to decide if she wants that female contestant on her team of frontrunner picks; if the host and/or all moderators want the same female contestant to win the television reality talent competition for the Vote for the Girls Victory.
 +

 +
If all six moderators want the same contestant (as happens frequently), the female contestant becomes the recipient of the VFTG AU Moderators' Save (an element often used in the event should that particular female contestant is the last woman standing and comes in handy in the event should her elimination result in an all-male Grand Final). Otherwise, there is a Vote for the Girls Loss and the moderator panel is forced to participate in a Punishment for Failure.
 +

 +
However, the male contestants are typically not supported and are considered to be the Ava Zinn version of Vote for the Worst picks (which are never revealed until either the end of the competition or if the last male contestant is eliminated--it has happened on the American and Swedish versions of Vote for the Girls). At any time during the male contestant's audition, the moderators may show disapproval to the male contestant by pressing a buzzer which lights a large red "X" on the moderator's podium (which are never shown in any of the episodes on the Youtube channel). Each moderator has the length of the male contestant's performance to decide if she disapprove the male contestant; if two or more judges disapprove the same male contestant (as happens frequently), the male contestant is a Vote for the Worst pick.  If all six moderators press their buzzers, the male contestant is a pick for the Male Moderator and a Vote for the Worst pick immediately. There have been instances of moderators pressing other moderators' buzzers. Vote for the Worst picks being saved from elimination also prevent Aeverine Zinn Holdings (the owner of the Vote for the Girls franchise) from running non-supported male contestants highlights on many episodes on the Vote for the Girls Australia YouTube channel (unusual since some entertainment web sites, including both the American and British versions have had permission to run male contestants saved from elimination highlights during the YouTube episode on their YouTube channel), which are replaced with a screen noting the restrictions.
 +
The Australian version of Vote for the Girls is the first to use the flexible pick system, which each moderator, could use once and only once (twice for Ava Zinn) during the entirety of the auditions. Making that Flex Pick the buzzer would immediately allow a male contestant as a Vote for the Girls pick for the pink or purple team, regardless of the other moderators' opinions and automatically a Vote for the Worst Pick for the opposing purple or pink team.
