Plot[edit]

Three years after reconciling with Lynsay Gerardo, Ava makes every effort to never work overtime on Fridays to ensure a similar incident never happens again. While on her way home, Lynsay's car breaks down outside Evnasville Road, Ava attempts to lift it without a jack, which results in Ava getting a sudden severe hernia and being hospitalized. Depressed at the concept of becoming old, she confides in Lynsay, who tells her she not only feels bad for what happened to Ava and mentions this is partially her fault as well as age is a state of mind. When Ava recovers, Lynsay takes her out to help her realize she can still have fun. They become good friends and spend a lot of time together, but things start to get out of hand when they start making porn and cause mischief as well as Lynsay becoming pregnant (revealed to be Ava's eventual daughter Brynn and Gerardo selling the maternity rights to Angie).

Believing that Lynsay is a bad influence on Ava, Angie goes to discuss with Lynsay the bad effect she is having on Ava, but sees Ava having sex with Lynsay. Devastated about the incident, Angie leaves Ava and stays at Melissa and Stephanie Rose's house. Ava is wracked with guilt and visits Angie, telling her that the only way to mend their relationship is if Angie sleeps with someone else. Though uncertain that it will work, Angie chooses to sleep with Charlie Harvey, Ava's step-father. Charlie turns out to be more than willing, but Angie bails out at the last moment and tells Ava that she refuses to sleep with anyone else and they forgive each other. After going to tell Lynsay they cannot be friends anymore, Angie too is enticed into sleeping with Lynsay (inadvertently getting even with Ava).

Ava explains to Lynsay that Bart the Bully is at the MegaTherapist. The Willis family question whether Lynsay took advantage of inside information. Lynsay assures her former boss (Gnom Ennyl) in Marion that such unethical behavior was beneath him. Peggy Willis and Cynthia Wilson visits Lynsay and asks her to try to get information by pretending to still be Bruce Cochrun, Lynsay's supervisor at Quill Family Therpy. Bruce Gerardo, Lynsay's husband, talks with Lynsay about Ava and laments that she has not been sucessful with Ava and Angie. Lynsay says she will try to keep Ava and Angie from divorcing. Cynthia then inquires to Lynsay about whether Ava is going to be unfaithful, but finds a gun lying around, which gives her pause.

Deanna departs in the morning after Angie informs Rags and Heather. Bruce Gerardo continues to ponder the gun as well as the postive pregnancy test and breaks in Ava's truck before heading out somewhere with Lynsay. Ava is at the living room at night when Melissa Rose arrives to cart Rags and Shushu away. Ava steps into the kitchen to pour herself a drink (revealed to be a mixed drink of Mississinewa Cola's Diet Dr. Steve and vodka). Ava hears a noise outside her door and as she investigates, she is shot twice in the gut by an unknown assailant and collapses.

Meanwhile, Rags becomes a bookie and takes a $50 bet from Heather on an NBC 13 Eyewitness News broadcast. Heather bets on John Stehr and Scott Swan and loses as Andrea Moorehead and Anne Marie Tiernon were anchoring. Rags and Shushu comes to collect, but Heather laughs Rags off and tells him she will have the money in 24 hours. After 24 hours, Rags asks for the money owed, but Heather says she does not have it and to give him until next Friday. Rags reveals that he is serious about settling the bet and, on two occasions, brutally beats up Heather (using such means as a golf club, shooting her in both knees with a pistol, and a flamethrower) to coerce her into paying up. Eventually, Heather agrees to pay off the bet. After Rags' bet is satisfied, he offers Heather an opportunity to get one "free revenge shot" to make up for all the torture he caused. Heather accepts the offer, but leaves Rags and Shushu in suspense as to when the free hit will be delivered, until Shushu is overcome with paranoia and starts beating herself up in an attempt to satisfy Heather. After biding his time and making Rags and Shushu worry about what could happen, Heather—while the Willis family are in Indianapolis—nonchalantly shoves rags in front of a moving IndyGo bus.[1]

Production[edit]

In 2018, the bathroom and living room scenes, along with The Story of Melissa's Mother's Heather's 60 second vomiting scenes as well as and Ten Years to Life's bedroom scene was reused in the tenth season premiere of Vote for the Girls with Ava Zinn & Alexandra Moffitt for a series of YouTube cross-over videos promoting Vote for the Girls's supported contestants. In the 10th season premiere, Ava is watching Vote for the Girls on CBS, and informs Heather she watched one of the strangest episodes where she saw Ava Zinn sell her virginity to a 50 year old Denver, Colorado news anchorwoman and Heather tells Ava Willis that is was a bet Ava Zinn lost and works up the courage to tell Ava that she voted for Chloe Kohanski and Brynn Cartelli on The Voice. Ava gets enraged at the news as she voted for Addison Agen[2] and Christiana Danielle[2], and orders Heather to reconsider.

In the bedroom scene from "Ten Years to Life", as Ava and Angie are having lesbian sex, Ava yells out Maddie Poppe's name, so Angie realizes that Ava is imagining her as the American Idol 16 winner to maintain her libido. [2] In The Drunken Hoosier scene, Ava yells out Hannahlei Cabanilla's name as Ava and Angie have lesbian sex.

In the bathroom scene, Heather considers voting for contestants Milo Manheim and Juan Pablo di Pace on the 27th season of Dancing with the Stars (instead of Evanna Lynch and Aexis Ren following Tinashe's elimination)[2], Jensen Arnold on the fifteenth season of So You Think You Can Dance[2], Glennis Grace on the thirteenth season of America's Got Talent[2], Chris Kroze on the fifteenth season of The Voice (instead of Reagan Strange, Sarah Grace, Kymberli Joye, Chevel Shepard, MaKenzie Thomas and Kennedy Holmes) [2], and some guy Ava Zinn really hates on the 17th season of American Idol[2] (with Tabby mentioning Ava Zinn went undercover as a contestant to audition eight years earlier). In the first and fourth videos, Tabby brutally beats up Heather for her different votes, in their respective videos, asking "Where's my Vote for the Girls pick?" and forces her to vote for female contestants. In the second video, when Heather thinks about voting for Jensen Arnold, Tabby and Shushu does't beat Heather and Shushu instead says, "Well, it's about bloddy time you fucking cunt," and Tabby replies, "Now you're talking my language! Thank you, Heather!" with Shushu saying "I would have loved it if she won though, but Hannahlei (Cabanilla) won the fucking show." The scene cuts to the aforementioned Drunken Hoosier scene. In the third video, when Heather thinks about voting for Glennis, Tabbby doesn't beat her up and instead says, "Oh, fuck this. I'm not doing one for fucking America's Got Talent," referring to Archibald Coolranch's dominance.
