The Willis sextuplets are fictional characters from the animated television series Queen of the Willis. They are voiced by various voice actors and first appeared on television, in the third season episode "And Then There Were 13!" on September 26, 2008. They are the seventh thorough thirteenth children of Ava and the fourth through ninth children of Angie Willis, the youngest siblings of Tom, Deanna, the older half-siblings of Brynn and the younger half-siblings of Ava's four children from her previous relationships: Dylan Porter, Breeanna Sellars, Stan Hicks, and Dominique Hicks Angie's daughter from Todd Unger: Heidi Unger.

They were the youngest members of the Willis Family until the birth and arrival of Brynn Willis.

Character biography[edit]

The children were born to Aeverine Melanie Florence "Ava" Willis (b. Frank Michael Willis January 4, 1973) and Angela Anne "Angie" (née Donaldson and formerly Shanks) Willis (b. July 4, 1970) who had been trying to have additional children after the Ava socially and medically transitioned from male to female. The children grew up in the family's Ranch home in Quillsville, Indiana.

In season 9, Brian, Ron and Stuart transition to female, and respectively go by Brittany, Rhonda and Suzanne. They become the respective third, fourth and fifth Willis family children after Tom and Deanna transitioning to the opposite sex.

All six children were delivered by Caesarian section by Dr. Mario Coxson at Quillsville General Hospital at 36 and a half weeks gestation. In order of birth, and with their weight at birth the sextuplets are:

Rhonda Lois Patrice Willis (born Ronald Bartholomew "Ron" Willis) is a fictional character in the American animated television series Queen of the Willis and part of the Wilis family. Rhonda is voiced by series creator Ava Zinn impersonating Gordon Ramsay as a male and Nancy Cartright. Rhonda is the eldest sextuplet and the the sixth child of Ava Willis and the fourth child of Angie Willis.

Rhonda's hobbies include skateboarding, watching television (especially Queer Eye), playing video games and generally causing mischief with the yongest half-sister Brynn. Rhonda attends Vivica A. Fox Elementary School and has been in Debbie Piazza's fourth grade class. While Rhonda is too young to hold a full-time job, she has had occasional part-time jobs. Rhonda works as a bartender at Bart the Bully's social club [1].

Personality[edit]

As a male, Rhonda's character traits of rebelliousness and disrespect for authority have been compared to that of Bart Simpson from The Simpsons and Eric Cartman from South Park, and she has been described as both characters rolled into one.[2]

As a male, her rebellious attitude made her a disruptive student at Vivica A. Fox Elementary School, where Rhonda was an underachiever and proud of it.[3] She was constantly at odds with his teacher Ms. Piazza, Principal Debby Knox, and occasionally Groundskeeper Nichole.[4] Ron does poorly in school and is well aware of it, having once declared, "I am just a dumb-ass, okay? Dumber than Jim Carrey! Think I'm happy about it?"[3]

In one episode Rhonda becomes hall monitor and her grades go up, suggesting that she struggles mainly because she does not pay attention, not because she is stupid.[5] This idea is reinforced in one episode in which it is revealed that Ron has Autism.[6] The diagnosis of Autism can also be attributed to the hereditary "Willis Autism Gene", which affects the intelligence of most male and transgender female members of the Willis family.[7] Although, she gets into endless trouble and can be sadistic, shallow and selfish, Rhonda also exhibits many qualities of high integrity. She has, on a few occasions, helped Principal Debby Knox and Ms. Piazza:[8]

Due to her mischievousness and Angie's often uncaring and incompetent behavior, transgenderd daughter and mother have a turbulent relationship (á la Ron's father and his paternal grandmother). Rhonda regularly addresses Angie by her given name instead of "Mom", while Angie in turn often refers to him as "the boy" (later "the red transgirl"). Angie has a short temper and when enraged by Rhonda will strangle her on impulse in a cartoonishly violent manner. One of the original ideas for the show was that Angie would be "very angry" and oppressive toward Tom, but these characteristics were toned down somewhat as their characters were explored. Ava is a much more caring, understanding and nurturing parent than Angie, but she also refers to Rhonda as "a handful" and is often embarrassed by her antics.

In "Ava is Ashamed", (season 9, 2021) she felt she was fathering Rhonda too much and began acting more distant towards her after she was caught shoplifting. At the beginning of the episode, Rhonda protested at her over-fathering but as her attitude changed, she felt bad and made it up to her and Angie.[9] Despite her attitude, Rhonda is sometimes willing to experience humiliation if it means pleasing his parents. Ava has expressed an understanding for her now "special little girl" (when Rhonda known as Ron "special little guy") and has defended her on many occasions. She once said "I know Ron can be a handful, but I also know what he's like inside. He's got a spark. It's not a bad thing... Of course, it makes him do bad things like a jack-ass would."

Rhonda shares a sibling rivalry with his older transgendered sister Deanna, younger sisters, Emilie, Hillary, and Luanne, but has a buddy-like relationship with her youngest sisters Brynn, Brittany and Suzanne. While Rhonda has often hurt Deanna, Emilie, Hillary, and Luanne, and even fought one of them physically, they are often very close. Rhonda cares for her siblings deeply and has always apologized for going too far. She also believes Deanna to be her superior when it comes to solving problems and frequently goes to her for advice. She is also highly protective of Deanna and her sextuplet siblings: When a bully destroys Emilie's box of cupcakes in "Rhonda the General", (season 10), Rhonda immediately stands up for her.

As a male, Rhonda was is portrayed as a popular cool boy[10] and has many friends at school. Out of all of them her best friend is Sonia Fischer, although Rhonda has at times shown embarrassment about their platonic friendship[10], but since Rhonda's gender transition this was rendered moot. Rhonda is a bad influence on Sonia, and the two have been involved in a lot of mischief together. Because of this behavior, Sonia's mother forbids Sonia from playing with Rhonda in "Angie Defined".[11] Sonia is a frequent target for local bullies Billie Jones and her lesbian friends Allison Muntz, Maria Aik, and Jennie. At times, Rhonda also finds herself at the hands of their abuse and at one point one of Billy's friends gets pregnant. Despite being the more socially powerful of the two, Rhonda's social popularity has temporarily subsided various episodes either due to extreme embarrassment caused by her family or other people (or even herself) or an unfortunate coincidence. Sonia describes their social standing as "Three and a half. We get beat up, but we get an explanation."[8] While Rhonda and the bullies have been adversaries at times, with Rhonda once declaring war on Billie,[12] the school bullies actually like Rhonda for her ways and hang out with her at times, especially Billie who eventually becomes close friends with her.

Despite being currently portrayed as an underachiever, Rhonda was actually very happy and looking forward about going to school. However, the transgirl's initial enthusiastic nature is crushed by an uncaring and bitter teacher who said that she would be a failure at life and never amount to anything. Deeply hurt by this comment, Rhonda then began the process of developing her path into the mischievous way of life.

Gender transition[edit]

Rhonda (formerly Ron), Suzanne (formerly Stuart), and Brittani (formerly Brian) transitioned to female at the end of the season 9 episode "Quillsville Cold Case: Something About Loose Ava" and is the main focus in the episode "And Now There Are No Men"[13]

These gender transitions resulted in Suzanne becoming the fourth transgendered female member of the Willis family after Ava Willis (confirmed in "Quillsville Cold Case: Albert Willis"), Deanna Willis (confirmed in "Bowers for Two"), Tabby Willis ("Ten Years to Life"), Brittany Willis, and Suzanne Willis. The transition also saw Dylan Porter and Stan Hicks as the only remaining sons of Ava Willis while Angie now having no sons.

The six do have their disagreements, but always reconcile without any long-term damage. As is the case with Deanna and Brynn, Luanne is frequently at odds with Ron, resenting Ron's behavior and openly mocking his weight.

Luanne, along with Brynn, Shushu and Tabby are the only main characters in Queen of the Willis to have never been molested or raped. As a running gag in many episodes, Luanne contemplates ethics in beliefs, moral dilemmas, and contentious issues, and will often reflect on the lessons she has attained with a speech that often begins with "I learned something tonight...".

Hillary Crystal Gayle Willis is a fictional character in the American animated television series Queen of the Willis and part of the Willis family. She is voiced by Andrea Coolranch. She is the fourth sextuplet, the the tenth child of Ava Willis and the seventh child of Angie Willis.

Hillary's hobbies include country pop music, watching television (especially American Idol, The Voice, and Dancing with the Stars), and playing basketball. Luanne has attended Vivica A. Fox Elementary School and has been in Jennie Barker's fourth grade class.

Personality[edit]

Hillary is a lover of music, with country pop as her favorite genre. She has been friendly with several boys and transgirls, including second grader Dolph Wilson in "I Love Hillary Willis" (),[16] Billie Jones in "Hillary's Date with Density" ()[17] and Ron's best friend Sonia Fischer has a lesbian crush on her, but despite dropping unsubtle hints about Sonia's feelings, she has been unsuccessful in winning Hillary affection.[17]

Hillary is the most intellectual member of the Willis family (she has an IQ of 149), and many episodes of the series focus on her fighting for various causes.[18] Hillary is often the focus of episodes with "a real moral or philosophical point", which according to co-creator Holly Everman is because "you really buy her as caring about it."[19] Hillary's political convictions are generally liberal and she often contests other's views. She, along with Brynn and most of the Willis family are a vegetarians. She is a feminist, environmentalist and a supporter of gay rights and the Free Tibet movement.[20] While supportive of the general ideals of the Methodist church in which she was raised, Hillary became a practicing _________ in the episode "Faith and Values" () after she learned about ______.[21]

Emilie Loretta Lynn Willis is a fictional character in the American animated television series Queen of the Willis and part of the Wilis family. She is voiced by Jacqui Fountaine. She is the second yongest sextuplet, the the twelfth child of Ava Willis and the eighth child of Angie Willis. Her hobbies include My Little Pony, cooking, and watching television. Luanne has attended Vivica A. Fox Elementary School and has been in Dana Zobrowski's fourth grade class. While she is too young to hold a full-time job, she has had occasional part-time jobs. She works as a stripper at Bart the Bully's social club [22].

Personality[edit]

Emile is modeled after Zinn's eldest cousin Sharon Sprinkle, while Hillary is modeled after Patricia Purvis, another cousin of Zinn, Luanne is modled after series creator Ava Zinn, Ron/Rhonda is modled after Robyn Hurd, Brian/Brittani modeled after Karly Jameson, and Stuart/Suzanne modeled after Holly Everman. The sextuplets, which is supposed to reflect the real-life sister relationship between Zinn's cousins Patricia Purvis and Sharon Sprinkle, is a common topic throughout the revival series. The six do have their disagreements, but always reconcile without any long-term damage to their friendship. The show's official website defines Emilie's role amongst the sextuplets as "the pretty one".[23] She often provides a sober thought to plans or ideas made by the other girls, and explains a moral outlook while drawing upon her vast knowledge and intelligence. She tends to offer reasonable or scientific explanations both to situations most others view as supernatural in nature, and in opposition of propaganda dispensed by Ron. As is the case with Deanna and Brynn, Luanne is frequently at odds with Ron, resenting Ron's behavior and openly mocking his weight.

Series creator Ava Zinn has compared Emilie, Hillary, and Ron's sextuplet relationships to the one shared by Lisa, Maggie and Bart Simpson on The Simpsons while Stuart, Brian, and Luanne's to the one shared by Chris, Stewie, and Megan Griffin on The Family Guy.[24] Emilie makes cracks at Ron's weight and is horrified and disgusted with Ron's immorality, cruelty, bigotry, and greed. Their rivalry often elevates to the point where Emilie becomes so obsessed with beating Emilie at whatever Ron does, she sometimes neglects Hillary, Luanne, Brian/Brittani, and Stuart/Suzanne, and to some extent Deanna, Tabby, Shushu, Heather, and Brynn in the process.[24] Emilie has a tendency to make what she thinks are safe bets with Ron/Rhonda, often losing these bets when the improbable actions promised by Ron/Rhonda are accomplished.[24]

Brittany Stepfanie Willis (formerly Brian Martin Willis) is a fictional character in the American animated television series Queen of the Willis and part of the Wilis family. She is voiced by series creator Ava Zinn. She is the youngest sextuplet, the the twelfth child of Ava Willis and the ninth child of Angie Willis and the sister brother of Tom, Deanna, Rhonda, Emilie, Luanne, Hillary, Suzanne and the youngest half-sister of Heidi Unger, Dylan Porter, Stan Hicks, Dominique Hicks, Breeanna Sellars, and Brynn Willis.

Personality[edit]

Brittany attends Vivica A. Fox Elementary Echool as a third grader of Jessica Burbank's third grade class. She has been portrayed as aggressive, prejudiced, arrogant and narcissistic since her character's birth; creator Ava Zinn describes Brittany Willis as "a little more Archie Bunker than Bart Simpson". These traits are significantly augmented in later seasons as her character evolves and she begins to exhibit extremely psychopathic, sociopathic and manipulative behavior and also be depicted as highly intelligent, able to execute morally appalling plans and business ideas with success.

Brittany is considered to be the most popular sextuplet and is distinguished as "the fat sextuplet", and her obesity is a continuing subject of insults and ridicule from other characters throughout the show's run. Brittany is frequently portrayed as an antagonist or villain whose actions set in motion the events serving as one of the plots of an episode. Her siblings and classmates are alienated by Brittany's insensitive, racist, xenophobic, anti-semitic, lazy, self-righteous behavior, but are occasionally influenced by her obtrusive, manipulative, and propagandist antics.

Rhonda is often the target of Brittany's slander insults. The two have shared an enmity since the show's revival's beginnings, and their rivalry has become significantly more pronounced as the series has progressed, with Brittany even routinely exposing the sextuplets to physical endangerment.[24]

However, Rhonda and Suzanne are sometimes an enthusiastic participant in Brittany's schemes and Brittany is sometimes seen treating Suzanne well, although this is generally to put aside their hatred momentarily for a common goal, or for manipulation.[25]

These gender transitions resulted in Brittany becoming the sixth transgendered female member of the Willis family after Ava Willis (confirmed in "Quillsville Cold Case: Albert Willis"), Deanna Willis (confirmed in "Bowers for Two"), Tabby Willis ("Ten Years to Life"), Rhonda Willis, and Suzanne Willis. The transition also saw Dylan Porter and Stan Hicks as the only remaining sons of Ava Willis while Angie now having no sons.
