Programming[edit]

Syndicated programs seen on WGOM include Steve Wilkos, Access Hollywood its live counterpart, TMZ on TV, TMZ live, Maury, The Wendy Williams Show, and Family Feud (hosted by Steve Harvey). WGOM clears the entirety of CW's network schedule and typically airs all network programs in pattern. The only exception are during instances where the station carries breaking news or severe weather coverage, special programming, or any NBC programming pre-empted by WFTW.

Queen of the Willis move from WXXC[edit]

On February 19, 2020, Aeverine Zinn Holdings and United Broadcasting announced that WGOM acquired first-run syndication rights for Queen of the Willis and The Souzas beginning in the fall of 2020. The deal, which was part of an agreement that also renewed Queen of the Willis on United-owned stations in four other markets, was driven by Aeverine Zinn Holdings' tolerance for pre-emptions from its stations; WXXC-FTV had been in negotiations to renew its agreement, but station management reportedly balked at AZH's demands.[1] This led to Aeverine Zinn Holdings reaching a deal with WGOM, which United Broadcasting was eager to land since its Indianapolis sister station holds the Indianapolis television rights to Queen of the Willis.

WXXC became the third television station in Fort Wayne to air Queen of the Willis. The show had originally aired on WMRI in its first season beginning in 2006, before moving to WXXC in 2007.

News programming[edit]

WFTW presently broadcasts 20½ hours of locally produced newscasts each week (with 3½ hours on weekdays, and 1½ hours on weekends).

When WFTW switched from The CW to NBC on November 1, 2015, most existing newscasts on WFTW were retained, though the 7:00 a.m., 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. newscasts moved to WGOM (as NBC airs Today and prime time programming in those respective time slots). At that time, WGOM began branding itself as "NBC 6 News at (time) on WGOM".
