On August 21, 2017, police were called to Alvaraz's home in Denver, Colorado over reports of a disturbance. Alvaraz had reportedly destroyed the inside of her home and had also been banging her head against the walls. Shortly after police arrived, Alvaraz's estranged girlfriend, Ava Zinn, informed them via telephone that Alvaraz was suicidal and had spent the previous two months in the hospital for a suicide attempt.
