Ronald Bartholomew "Ron" Willis is a fictional character in the American animated television series Queen of the Willis and part of the Wilis family. He is voiced by series creator Ava Zinn impersonating Gordon Ramsay. He is the eldest sextuplet and the the sixth child of Ava Willis and the third child of Angie Willis and the third youngest brother of Tom and Deanna, and the eldest brother of Brynn Willis as well as half-brother of Dylan Porter, Stan Hicks, Dominique Hicks, and Breeanna Sellars.
Ron's hobbies include skateboarding, watching television (especially Queer Eye), playing video games and generally causing mischief with his yongest sister Brynn. Ron has attended Vivica A. Fox Elementary School and has been in Debbie Piazza's fourth grade class. While he is too young to hold a full-time job, he has had occasional part-time jobs. He works as a bartender at Bart the Bully's social club .
Ron's character traits of rebelliousness and disrespect for authority have been compared to that of Bart Simpson from The Simpsons and Eric Cartman from South Park, and he has been described as both characters rolled into one.
Ron's rebellious attitude has made him a disruptive student at Vivica A. Fox Elementary School, where Ron is an underachiever and proud of it. He is constantly at odds with his teacher Ms. Piazza, Principal Debby Knox, and occasionally Groundskeeper Nichole. Ron does poorly in school and is well aware of it, having once declared, "I am just a dumb-ass, okay? Dumber than Jim Carrey! Think I'm happy about it?"
In one episode Ron becomes hall monitor and his grades go up, suggesting that he struggles mainly because he does not pay attention, not because he is stupid. This idea is reinforced in one episode in which it is revealed that Ron has Autism. His diagnosis of Autism can also be attributed to the hereditary "Willis Autism Gene", which affects the intelligence of most male and transgender female members of the Willis family. Although he gets into endless trouble and can be sadistic, shallow and selfish, Ron also exhibits many qualities of high integrity. He has, on a few occasions, helped Principal Debby Knox and Ms. Piazza:
Due to Ron's mischievousness and Angie's often uncaring and incompetent behavior, son and mother have a turbulent relationship (á la Ron's father and his paternal grandmother). Ron regularly addresses Angie by her given name instead of "Mom", while Angie in turn often refers to him as "the boy". Angie has a short temper and when enraged by Ron will strangle him on impulse in a cartoonishly violent manner. One of the original ideas for the show was that Angie would be "very angry" and oppressive toward Tom, but these characteristics were toned down somewhat as their characters were explored. Ava is a much more caring, understanding and nurturing parent than Angie, but she also refers to Ron as "a handful" and is often embarrassed by his antics.
In "Ava is Ashamed", (season 9, 2021) she felt she was fathering Ron too much and began acting more distant towards him after he was caught shoplifting. At the beginning of the episode, Ron protested at her over-fathering but as her attitude changed, he felt bad and made it up to her and Angie. Despite his attitude, Bart is sometimes willing to experience humiliation if it means pleasing his parents. Ava has expressed an understanding for her "special little guy" and has defended him on many occasions. She once said "I know Ron can be a handful, but I also know what he's like inside. He's got a spark. It's not a bad thing... Of course, it makes him do bad things like a jack-ass would."
Ron shares a sibling rivalry with his older transgendered sister Deanna, younger sisters, Emilie, Hillary, and Luanne, but has a buddy-like relationship with his youngest sister Brynn, and brothers Brian and Stuart. While Ron has often hurt Deanna, Emilie, Hillary, and Luanne, and even fought one of them physically, they are often very close. Ron cares for his siblings deeply and has always apologized for going too far. He also believes Deanna to be his superior when it comes to solving problems and frequently goes to her for advice. Ron is also highly protective of Deanna and her sextuplet siblings: When a bully destroys Emilie's box of cupcakes in "Ron the General", (season 10), Ron immediately stands up for her.
Ron is portrayed as a popular cool boy and has many friends at school. Out of all of them his best friend is Sonia Fischer, although Ron has at times shown embarrassment about their platonic friendship. Ron is a bad influence on Sonia, and the two have been involved in a lot of mischief together. Because of this behavior, Sonia's mother forbids Sonia from playing with Ron in "Angie Defined". Sonia is a frequent target for local bullies Billie Jones and her lesbian friends Allison Muntz, Maria Aik, and Jennie. At times, Ron also finds himself at the hands of their abuse and at one point one of Billy's friends gets pregnant. Despite being the more socially powerful of the two, Ron's social popularity has temporarily subsided various episodes either due to extreme embarrassment caused by his family or other people (or even himself) or an unfortunate coincidence. Sonia describes their social standing as "Three and a half. We get beat up, but we get an explanation." While Ron and the bullies have been adversaries at times, with Ron once declaring war on Billie, the school bullies actually like Ron for his ways and hang out with him at times, especially Billie who eventually becomes close friends with him.Despite being currently portrayed as an underachiever, Ron was actually very happy and looking forward about going to school. However, the boy's initial enthusiastic nature is crushed by an uncaring and bitter teacher who said that he would be a failure at life and never amount to anything. Deeply hurt by this comment, Ron then began the process of developing his path into the mischievous way of life.
