Use {{tl|TBD}} as a placeholder for ''forthcoming information'', such as the date of an upcoming event, title of a to-be-released film or album, or other missing data.  This template should only be used when the upcoming "whatever" ''has been [[WP:V|sourced]]'' except for this particular as-yet-undetermined detail.  It [[WP:NOT#CRYSTAL|must not be used for supposition or prediction]], and not for missing but findable information.  Ideally, the very fact that the information is presently undetermined should itself be [[WP:RS|reliably sourced]].

 

As with other [[:Category:Inline templates|inline templates]] of this sort, it should '''not''' be [[Wikipedia:Template substitution|substituted]] with "subst:".

 

Articles tagged with {{tl|TBD}} will be added to [[:Category:Wikipedia articles containing placeholders]], which can be used to find articles that are likely in need of updating after a signficant amount of time has passed since the dates that this template was added to them.
