Opening[edit]

The DVD version shows the premiere of the film, with celebrities such as Karly Jameson and her date the Fonz, and the Willis family attending. Everyone goes into the theatre where Channel 24 reveals they have hired Anna Pamhouser to provide them with a bootleg copy of the film. After this, the film begins.

"Simply the Best RAGS"[edit]

When the Willis go swimming at the Quillsville Community Pool, Angie tries teaching Rags to swim and attempts to toss him into the pool, despite Rags begging to be put down. Ava takes Rags to swimming lessons, where Rags meets Bruno, a dog about his age who is the "Star Swimmer." In jealousy, Rags does everything he can to steal Bruno's glory. As a last resort he tries to kill him by rigging a lifeguard chair with dynamite and luring Bruno beneath it with marzipan; however, Rags' detonator malfunctions, blowing up the legs of chair and causing it to fall on Rags himself. He ends up in hell with a well-known actor. When Rags is revived by Ava, he believes it is a sign for him to be a good boy.

After Angie learns that the new video store will not let her rent pornography, she vents her frustration in front of newscaster Angela Stroup, who gives her a job at Quillsville 24 hosting a segment called "What Really Boils My Blood," in which she rants about things that bother her. Angie becomes extremely popular, overshadowing Mullins and Stroup, the former of whom is fired after attempting to distract Angie during filming.

Rags attempts to be a good boy by smothering Heather and Shushu with affection. Heather finally goads Rags and Shushu into reverting to their old, violent ways by crushing a spider web and eating the spider. Rags starts drinking heavily, following Heather's way of coping. Heather attempts to cure Rags of his alcoholism by taking him and Shushu out for a night of drinking at the Drunken Hoosier. While drunk, Rags crashes Heather's car through the wall of the bar. Knowing Rags is Angie's dog, Zach takes advantage of the situation and presents footage of the accident at the news station. Angie is fired and Zach is rehired as the anchor. The next morning, Rags has a hangover and realizes his lonely existence in the world, wishing that there were someone else to whom he could relate. At the end Rags says it is good that he stopped drinking now, so that it would not have any repercussions later in life.

"Hell's Episode"[edit]

Angie buys a TiVo. While watching it, Rags spots a dog in Miami on the news that has the same face and hairstyle as him. Rags then believes that he may be his true father. Learning that Pamhouser is going on a cross-country tour in which she plans to have sex with a different man in every state of America, Heather, Rags, and Shushu hitch a ride in her RV. At a motel in Georgia, Pamhouser is handcuffed to a bed and mugged by the latest man. Then Rags, Shushu and Heather drive off with her RV leaving Pamhouser at the motel.

Meanwhile, Ava and Angie are trying to get intimate, but are constantly interrupted by Tom, Deanna, and the sextuplets. To solve this problem, Angie and Ava decide to teach the children how to find dates. After several "lessons", Ava and Angie send them to the mall. However, Ava is concerned that people will think they're bad parents simply because they wanted their children out of the way.

Rags crashes the RV in the river after going insane from ingesting an entire bottle of "East Coast Turnarounds". After wandering through the desert, Rags breaks down crying and nearly decides to give up until Heather encourages him to keep going. The three manage to get a rental car and arrive in Miami. Rags mysteriously leaves Shushu and Heather and confronts the dog from TV on a bus, and is shocked to discover that the dog is actually himself from 25 years in the future.

"Heaven's Episode"[edit]

At her high school reunion, Angie pretends to be a secret agent-astronaut-millionaire who wears a garden hat to impress her classmates, but the truth comes out when she meets Peyton Manning. She subsequently gets drunk and has to make a run for the bathroom, knocking over everyone between her and the bathroom. Manning is impressed and gets Ava a spot on the Colts as a cheerleader. Ava is soon fired for showboating in a game versus the New England Patriots, driving on to the field then pulling a "Brandi Chastain" after the Colts beat the Patriots. Ava is then traded to the

Ava decides to turn them around and challenges Manning to a game between the Indians and the Colts and is immediately tackled. However, Manning compliments Ava on having the nerve to stand up to them, having now regained respect for him.

"Aeverine the Politician"[edit]

The Willis family sans Heather, Rags and Shushu decides to take a vacation at Pamhouser's cabin at Lake Quill. When they go swimming in the lake, they discover that an oil refinery is dumping toxic waste into it; as they flee the lake their hair falls out, forcing them to wear powdered wigs until it grows back. Ava complains to Mayor Lee Kelso, who admits that he sanctioned the dumping in exchange for free hair oil. Outraged at Kelso’s corruption, Ava decides to run against him in the upcoming mayoral election. Angie and her friends become strong supporters of Ava's campaign, realizing that they'd be able to get away with almost everything should she become mayor. But Ava's campaign soon falters as Mayor Kelso proves more politically savvy. While Ava bores voters with detailed plans to improve the city, Mayor Kelso uses glittering generalities and statements completely unrelated to the questions posed to him. Following Deanna's advice to give short, simple answers, Ava resorts to similar tactics, dropping controversial terms such as "God" and "9/27" in meaningless ways. She eventually gains the populace's support and wins the election.

After taking office, Ava attempts to propose a tax raise, though when this fails, begins to use fear tactics to raise funds to clean up the lake. Her efforts are successful and life returns to the clean lake. She even has leftover cash afterwards, so she embezzles $100 to purchase a purse, much to Deanna's disappointment. Angie has also succumbed to the perks of being the mayor's wife: she has rerouted the town's electrical system and caused rolling blackouts to bring late comedian John Belushi back from the dead. Later, Ava is tempted to buy a $25,000 car, and Councilwoman Chloe offers to buy it for her if she will allow her to dump the oil runoff in the lake. Ava reluctantly accepts the offer, but as the opening of the new runoff pipe begins, Ava realizes the error of her ways and closes the valve to the pipe and resigns her position as mayor, stating that she was consumed by money and power, which led her to become the very same things she set out to destroy. Ava then allows Kelso to have his job as mayor back.

Kelso declares himself mayor again, but a random bystander points out that he has no jurisdiction to do so, and that the city has to have a whole new election to decide who gets to be the mayor of Quillsville. This prompts Kelso to pull out a knife and stab him, as well as two others whom he believes objected. Despite Kelso's blatant act of assault with a deadly weapon and the fact that he murdered several people in front of witnesses, no one in Quillsville defends themselves against him, attempts to arrest him, or question his moral judgment to be mayor.

"Tim and Rags Awesome Show"[edit]

"Tim", as Rags's future self is called, tells Rags that he is on vacation (Tim explains that rather than just simply travel to different places in the world, people from his time travel to other time periods). Tim reveals he cannot tell anyone about his time and leaves for his time, Rags stows away with him. Rags learns he will not become ruler of the world but rather "a 30-year-old New Yorker magazine-reading virgin". Tim passes off Rags as a Mexican dog named Milo to everyone until Tim can send him back to his own time. Rags learns he will work at the Quillsville Radio Staple while living with Kevin, his childhood teddy bear, in a filthy apartment. Template:RAGStory - Tim & Rags 3 Disgusted with the way his life will turn out, Rags remodels Tim's apartment. Returning home, he finds that his apartment is in flames due to the stress-relieving candles Rags put there.

His life now ruined, Tim laments the day of his near-death experience at the community pool, revealing that memories of the experience will re-surface when Rags is 15 years old, causing him to repress most of his major emotions and preventing him from taking any risks. They visit Ava (who reveals that she had recognized "Milo" as her "little Rags" immediately) at a retirement home for a loan and get a new time travel watch. Rags travels back in time to the day of the accident and prevents himself from getting crushed by the chair. However, future Rags gets vaporized by present Rags, thus creating a paradox and skipping the formalities of Future Rags disappearing eventually. As the family packs up and heads for home, Tom bids farewell to a transgirl to whom he's been talking to, considering how much she likes her name: Rhonda.

If this episode is viewed independently of the film version, the beginning is a parody of Quantum Leap.

The Afterparty[edit]

In another DVD addition, Dave Malachi talks with the fans and asks them how they liked the film, receiving completely negative feedback. After this, Dave asks the family what they did during the show's move from ATE Media to NoSirGifts between Seasons 1 and 2. Angie talks about how she did several part-time jobs which involved wearing costumes, although she always wound up fired because she kept peeing in them because she thought it was like an astronaut suit, but when she finally did become an astronaut, she did not believe she had to pee in the suit and almost died. Heather talks about how she met her fans and competed in the Iditarod Crab Race, only to get very tired and lose. Ava talks about how she became a prostitute and shows video footage of her trying to beat up a policeman and of her having an argument in a convenience store over her wanting to taste the chips. Deanna talks about entertaining the U.S. Navy by singing and dressing like Cher for "If I Could Turn Back Time". However, she was actually repulsing the sailors instead, causing them to abandon and sink the ship they were on. Rags and Shushu talks about their appearances in those "damn" talk shows. Tom then talks about his guest appearance on King of the Hill.
