Early Life[edit]

Career[edit]

Marti McDaniel started her career in 1992 as the morning anchor for then-NBC affiliate WWCF-FTV in Tampa. In 1995, she became the main anchor for WWCF after its switch from NBC to CBS in Tampa where she remained co-anchored with Kellie Rock until 2009. Marti Remained remained at WWCF until 2013. The McDaniel-Rock team was the third NoSirGifts-owned station to pair two anchorwomen for its newscasts (the first were Lanise White/Kathy Fountaine at WXWI Milwaukke and Kym Christian/Janet Webb at KDNC Denver)

Vote for the Girls moderator[edit]

On April 28, 2016, it was announced McDaniel announced she will join the moderator panel of the eighth season of Vote for the Girls as a newcomer. She will be joined by returning moderators Ava Zinn, Kendra Ray, Kathi Jameson, Karly Jameson, Holly Everman, Perri Johnson, Thia Tola, Tracia Ward, Hillary Matthewson, Lanise White, Kymberly Alvaraz, and new moderators Rachael Passalt and Donna Doogan, Breeanna Sorensen, Ann Dwyar and Kylie Dwyar.

McDaniel, along with fellow Floridians Tim Doogan from Jacksonville and Nadia Lorenzo from Miami, gained a major ratings windfall within four months of joining the moderator panel. Due to Florida's status as the state with the most Vote for the Girls victories and local contestants Macy Kate on Rising Star, The Voice season three winner Cassadee Pope, respective The X Factor USA season one and three winners Melanie Amaro and Alex & Sierra, and female contestants from Florida appearing on The Voice and So You Think You Can Dance, are consistently among the highest-rated programs in the state of Florida during the live shows. In 2015, for instance, Vote for the Girls is consistently consistently among the highest-rated site in Florida during the live shows of DWTS, The Voice, and American Idol. In May 2015, for instance, Vote for the Girls supporters via McDaniel's former WWCF co0anchor Kellie Rock attracted a 5.3 rating and a 10 share, the third-strongest Vote for the Girls moderator in the nation behind only long-time moderators Ava Zinn in Marion, Indiana and Holly Everman in Muncie, Indiana.

McDaniel began a relationship with Fort Wayne-based talk YouTube personality, singer, actress, and webmaster Ava Zinn on March 1, 2020. Zinn, who is 12 years McDaniels’ junior and became the sixth woman Zinn has been with after Amanda Davidson, Elisa Everman, Angie Willis, Christy Johnson, and Kymberly Alvaraz.
