Vote for the Girls moderator[edit]

On September 30, 2016, Maribel Mort announced on The Karly Jameson Show that she had accepted a moderator panel role on Vote for the Girls USA. Mort said, "The timing is right to follow in the legacy that my mom and aunt began. I'm proud to be doing Vote for the Girls because as someone from Fort Wayne, Pittsburgh was one of the the first place I saw success," she said. "I remember Ava trying out for American Idol and I was a senior in college." Mort also added she inherited her mother's Vote for the Girls victory on the first season of The X Factor USA (Melanie Amaro), her aunt Kellie's victories of Gaby Diaz and DaNica Shirey as a condition of joining the moderator panel.

Mort joined the Pink team East, replacing Nadia Lorenzo (whom moved from the pink to the purple team to join Peta-Alyce Kaizer as a duo moderator). She joins duo moderators Holly Everman & Perri Johnson, Sophia Williams & Maci Blanca, and solo moderator Breeanna Sorensen.
