As Zinn is already a grandfather of three grandchildren, Sorensen became a stepgrandmother to Alisan, Michael, and Leah. Breeanna Reneé Soresnen (born July 18, 1984), is an American television personality. Sorensen is a Meteorologist for WTOR and independent station WXXC.[1]

Background and education

Sorensen was born Breeanna Reneé Sorensen on July 18, 1984 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to mother Veronica Craft (1950-2009) and father Phil Sorensen. She has a younger brother named Jim Sorensen (b. 1986). When she was 12, the family moved to Lafayette, Indiana after her father took the sports director position at WTOR in Fort Wayne in 1996 while her mother took a job at NoSirGifts in Marion, Indiana.

After graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana in 2002, Sorensen returned to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and graduated in 2006.

Career

After graduating college, Sorensen worked for WRNC. While working at WRNC from 2006-2011, Breeanna was asked once to fill in as a guest weather anchor on the Fox News Channel, and this fulfilled her high school goal.[1] In addition, Sorensen is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.[2]

On December 2, 2014, WLIN announced that Sorensen would become chief meteorologist seen weekday afternoons and weather editor for WLIN, succeeding Sam Walker, who transferred his chief meteorologist duties from WLIN to WWKI upon WWKI's affiliation switch from The CW to CBS.[3] However, Sorensen declined the job offer and accepted a similar position at WTOR.

On March 31, 2016, Sorensen was announced as a moderator panelist on Vote for the Girls. She will be joining the purple team duo moderators Ava Zinn and Kymberly Alvaraz, Danni McClannahan and Lanise White, Kathi and Karly Jameson, and solo moderators Kendra Ray and Rachael Passalt.[4]

Sorensen became the Carolina's Vote for the Girls moderator. Sorensen's hometown in the Triangle has long been a hotbed for American Idol alumni and supported female contestants, are tied to the past success of artists such as Season 3 champion Fantasia Barrino (of High Point), Season 5 finalist Kellie Pickler (Albemarle) who finished sixth (as well as winning the sixteenth season of Dancing with the Stars), and season 13 finalist Majesty Rose York.

Due to being the girlfriend of Ava Zinn, Sorensen joined the cast of Caprice & Ella on September 24, 2022. Her first apperance was the conclusion of the 14-part miniseries "Breaking Boiling Point". Because of this job, Sorensen has scaled back from her job at WTOR/WXXC swapping positions with Luka Runecraft.

As Zinn is already a grandfather of three grandchildren, Sorensen became a stepgrandmother to Alisan, Michael, and Leah. Two months later, on November 21, 2022 news of the relationship became public, in a YouTube post by Ava Zinn, it was revealed that she and Sorensen were expecting a baby and confirmed two days later on November 23, 2022.
