'''''Breaking Boiling Point''''' is an American 15-part episode of the [[Caprice & Ella (season 4)|fourth season]] of ''[[Caprice & Ella]]'' and is the first [[wikipedia:miniseries|miniseries]] in the show's history.<ref name=BBPTrailer /> The miniseries, which aired from January 15, 2023, to February 3, 2023, covers the four and a half month period of Caprice, Ella, and Ava Zinn of their lease not being renewed and forced to find another place to live from June 10, 2022 to November 3, 2022. It was initally scheduled to air from November 11, 2022 to November 28, 2022 but was pushed back to January 2023.

The miniseries marks the final apperances of Ragdoll Kitty and Grey Poupon, who died from injuries from a vehicular hit and run during production of the miniseries on June 10, 2022. The miniseries also marks the first apperance of [[Breeanna Sorensen]] as she begins a relationship with [[Ava Zinn]] in part 14 of the miniseries. [[Karly Jameson]], the primary narrator of the series, and [[Rachael Passalt]], the secondary narrator of the series, also makes their first on-camera apperance in the miniseries.

==Plot==
When Ava gets a 90-day notice of her lease at Black Pine Flats (formerly Brendonwood Park Apartments) is not being renewed due to the new owner's decision to no longer accepting Housing Choice Vouchers <ref name=BBPWANE/>, Ava immediately takes action and soon finds and applies to Golfview Apartments, which not only accepts Housing Choice Vouchers, but also allows pets and meets the needs of Ava, Caprice, and Ella (or so Ava thought in subsequent episodes). However, Ava soon discovers there is not only a wait list, but she also goes to extremes to get help with the impending move and must find a way to hold on to hope and do it without any disruptions.

On learning about losing the place they've called Black Pine Flats (the former Brendonwood Park Apartments) home, Caprice and Ella becomes violent with Caprice hissing at the rude property manager an astonishing 567 times with her tail puffed 20 times and Ella growling/barking 110 times, yet do not attack the property manager whom Caprice thinks is responsible for this decision.

Throughout the miniseries, Ava tries to obtain $2,600 (later $3,100) to cover first month rent (as she believes the Housing Choice Voucher will not allow overlapping subsidy), security deposit, pet deposit for Caprice and Ella, and moving costs. Due to only having only $600 for just the pet deposit, Ava tries to obtain the needed funds by applying for assistance from BrightPoint, Wayne Township Trustee, and IvyCares via [[wikipedia:Ivy Tech Community College|IvyTech]] Fort Wayne. The funds do eventually arrive, yet Ava is irritated at the fact she had to wait almost three months to get those funds but not before Caprice and Ella do some serious overall damage.

Also realizing everything Caprice and Ella has been through and knowing any reprimands/disciplinary actions will not make what Caprice, Ella, and Ava had gone through (particularly [[Fort Wayne's Cat: The Search & Rescue of Caprice Zinn|Caprice's 44-hour ordeal]]) or Ava's actions before, during, and after the move go away. 

The miniseries ends with at least Caprice and Ella fully settled in at Golfview, albeit with Ava suffering injuries after a brutal, expensive (in the process becoming the most expensive after Ava's November 1983 move from Chicago to Mill Township, Indiana, which at the time was $1,500 ($4,433 in 2022 dollars) {{Inflation/fn|US}}), and dangerous move. It is revealed by [[Rachael Passalt]] that Ava spent five months and $5,000 on the move. Instead of the usual end credits, the end credits in part 15 parodies those of the series finale of the original run of ''Magnum, P.I.''<ref name="Magnum1988Finale" />. After the end credits, the Johnny Mathis performance of "Once Before I Go" is featured in a montage dedicated to Ragdoll Kitty and Grey Poupon, and after the tribute and producer's sounder, the scene cuts to Ava seated, dressed in her street clothes and viewing a computer screen in her living room at Golfview Apartments. She turns, looks at the camera and clicks the remote control after saying "Good night and may Fort Wayne's Good News Be Yours." The screen then goes black followed by an 87-second tribute to George Rongos, the founder of George's International Market and Salsa Grille, which Ava visited in the miniseries, ending the miniseries.


The miniseries' title refers to the point where the stress of a pet peeve is so high and overwhelming.


===Part 1===
Brendonwood Park Apartments is renamed to Black Pine Flats after CIM Living acquires the apartment complex that Ava had called her home since May 14, 2018, as well as Caprice and Ella's since their respective arrivals on February 26, 2021, and March 27, 2021. CIM Living decides to let Kellie Yoquelt, of whom Ava states was kind as the miniseries progresses, and is replaced by Rebecca Fielitz, of which makes life Hell for Ava, Caprice and Ella. They also make a number of changes throughout the miniseries and among them is according to Ava, CIM Living's decision to no longer allow Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) and it results in Ava's lease not being renewed<ref name=BBPWANE/>.
===Part 2===
Changes at Black Pine Flats continue while Ava scrambles to find another place to live and picks Golfview Apartments and she almost immediately applies for tenancy there. Meanwhile, Ava's life overall is falling apart and becomes unaccustomed to the changes made at Black Pine Flats. As the tantrums of Caprice and Ella worsen, Ava decides to take them to see a therapist who suggests they are acting out because of the constant changes after Caprice begins a campaign of hissing and Ella growling, in which they are in fight or flight mode.
===Part 3===
The episode starts with various news reports of the struggle for affordable housing in other cities in the United States. After an investigation done by Ava, it was determined that CIM Living would be held liable (and confirmed in Part 14 <ref name=BBPWANE/>) in the event Ava should sue and Ava changes into her "Rambo Ava" outfit [in a similar manner to [[Ava Willis (Queen of the Willis)|Ava Willis]] (voiced by Zinn) on three ''[[Queen of the Willis]]'' episodes and goes into street fights.
===Part 4===
Ava reaches out for help in person and online. Online reactions to Ava's posts were bad as she was cyberbullied rather than being offered a reasonable resolution and was even kicked out of the NextDoor app. She is determined to not be homeless for any reason, even if it is for a day and makes her threat of legal action.
===Part 5===
Ava discovers after applying for tenancy at Golfview Apartments that there is a waiting list, which eventually caused problems. Caprice, Ella, and Ava kick around some ideas on how to pay for the expensive in-town move, even if it means breaking the law and references to Brian Randolph, the father who robbed a credit union to pay for his daughter's cancer treatments after the insurance lapsed, are shown in the episode.
===Part 6===
Caprice and Ella become more aggressive than ever in which Caprice bit Ava even harder than in the past after Ava had difficulty in obtaining rental ledgers needed for Golfview Apartments management to approve the application.
===Part 7===
The moving process is underway as Ava has to worry about not only the funding of the move, but also facing a Section 8 voucher deadline of September 16, 2022, that was later extended through October 1. By this point in the miniseries, Caprice has hissed at the property manager 235 times, 60 of them at one of the contractors in a five-minute period on July 12, 2022.
===Part 8===
In Part 8 of the miniseries, Ava reveals the the IvyCares application for the move's funds were denied yet she managed to obtain only the pet deposit for Caprice and Ella. Rather than accepting the denial, Ava decides to fight back and later learns from a source at IvyTech that funds were limited. Ava joins forces with a Facebook group as well as going undercover in a complicated operation. However, Ava still manages to make things even worse as she still needs the funds for first month rent, security deposit, and moving expenses. Ava does, however, manage to only obtain the $600 needed for the pet deposit for Caprice and Ella to live at Golfview Apartments, yet is still short by $2,000.

===Part 9===
In Part 9 of the miniseries, Ava dedicates herself to obtaining the $2,000 needed. When the GoFundMe campaign and organizations fail to help Ava obtain funds that are still needed for the move to Golfview, Ava decides to take matters into her own hands and will stop at nothing to see that Ava does get the $2,000 needed to complete the relocation from Black Pine Flats to Golfview Apartments. When Ava's attempts are not enough, she finds herself in an unfamiliar, awkward, and undesirable situation to come up with the much needed $2,000, which leads to serious double crossings and game playing. What's even worse, in a deleted scene, she also finds out the apartment at Golfview will not be ready until after November. Realizing that development, Ava vomits profusely for sixty uninterrupted seconds, and then she, Caprice, and Ella begin panicking. She later finds out via Lutheran Social Services that Ava is now third on Golfview's waitlist as well as the [[wikipedia:Section 8 (housing)|Section 8]] [[wikipedia:Housing voucher|voucher]] being extended through October 16, 2022, as well as an unexpected lease extension at Black Pine Flats that now ends on October 31, 2022.

Despite the good news, Ava is not only [[wikipedia:psychological trauma|psychologically traumatized]], but she states she nearly had 15 heart attacks after going through the whole ordeal as the damage had already been done.

===Part 10===
In part 10, Ava mails the $600 pet deposit and also learns good news via LaSar'a Johnson of Lutheran Social Services, of which Ava's Housing Choice Voucher being extended to October 16, 2022 as well as her current lease at Black Pine Flats being extended through [[wikipedia:Halloween|October 31]], 2022, and initially Ava learned from LaSar'a that Ava moved from fifth to third on the Golfview Apartments waitlist yet a week later, she learns that Golfview Apartments, Fort Wayne Housing Authority, and Ava are close to a deal and is on standby while awaiting the funds for the $675 first month rent, $1,050 security deposit, and $575 moving expenses (at which point comes to $2,300{{ndash}}$300 more than expected).

Ava spends most of part ten of the miniseries explaining what the move from Black Pine Flats to Golfview Apartments means to Caprice, Ella, and Ava as the stores such as [[wikipedia:Walmart|Walmart]], [[wikipedia:Meijer|Meijer]], and [[wikipedia:Kroger|Kroger]] as well as mentioning that [[wikipedia:Dollar General|Dollar General]] opened a location in Ava's hometown of {{city-state|Van Buren|Indiana}} although there has been a Dollar General distribution plant just outside {{city-state|Marion|Indiana}} that Ava doesn't mention. Caprice and Ella learn that Golfview does have an additional pet rent that Ava will be paying upon the move to Golfview Apartments.

===Part 11===
In part 11, Ava reveals that as of January 4, 2021, she stopped recycling aluminum cans after 28 years as it is no longer economically viable as a resident of Fort Wayne. Although she initially continued the aluminum can recycling tradition after [[Ava Zinn relocation to Fort Wayne, Indiana|moving from Marion to Fort Wayne in 2018]]. She reveals that she retired from webmastring in December 2020 after 21 years. Plans for [[wikipedia:Labor Day|Labor Day weekend]] 2022 were changed as the cookout and [[wikipedia:Domino's Pizza|Domino's]] pizza were not going to happen, particularly as it would have been the final order from the latter location on Tillman Road. Things take a tragic turn as not only the stress of the move takes a toll on Caprice as she vomited yet she later leans the cat treats were expired.

===Part 12===
In part 12, Ava learns about the new address of where Caprice, Ella, and Ava will be living at Golfview as well as how much rent will be with and without the Housing Choice Voucher ($619 without the voucher plus $60 due to Caprice and Ella being pets yet is a major adjustment as she did not have to pay pet rent at Black Pine Flats, yet with the voucher is $91, almost the same amount as before) and the security deposit is $930, yet Ava rounds it up to $1,000. Ava also reveals she unexpectedly went to {{city-state|New Haven|Indiana}} via Fort Wayne CitiLink. Now the only things Ava has to worry about are getting the funds for first month rent ($679), security deposit ($930), and moving costs ($500-600), totaling $2,200 (rounded up) as well as having transportation as Ava still doesn't have her first driver's license nor have her first automobile, which would for the most part permanently solve that particular issue. 

===Part 13===
In part 13, Ava finally receives the funds needed for her move to Golfview Apartments. Ava admits that she had lost control of herself in the moment she was notified of her lease was not renewed at Black Pine Flats, snapped at the heat of the moment during the nearly four month transition period between the move from Black Pine to Golfview by begging complete strangers to help fund the move, and realizing that any further strain would not be good for Ava, Caprice, Ella or Ava's coworkers ([[Rachael Passalt]], [[Karly Jameson]], [[Thia Tola]], and [[Kendra Ray]]). Ava does go on a [[wikipedia:profanity|profanity]]-laced rant about why she should have received the funds sooner than she did after Caprice and Ella asked Ava about why it took longer than expected. The 14-minute rant includes Ava saying "fuck" 40 times (a stark contrast as [[Vote for the Girls (American season 3)|10 years]] earlier on [[Vote for the Girls (United States)|''Vote for the Girls'']] Ava went on a 15-minute profanity laced rant in which she swore 90 times in that particular episode) as well as featuring a clip of [[wikipedia:Hell's Kitchen (American TV series)|''Hell's Kitchen'']] contestant Robert Hesse.


===Part 14===
In part 14, Ava makes her final visits to various stores on the southeast side of Fort Wayne as well as to an extent in nearby Waynedale. She also takes her Introduction to Ethics midterm exam, a Quantitive Reasoning test, and does two Raster Graphics I assignments, yet proved to be costly for Ava as they were more than she could take as well as a Quantitive Reasoning assignment that proved costly for Ava. She also makes her first visits to stores on the northeast side of Fort Wayne including [[wikipedia:Subway (restaurant)|Subway]], Copper Canyon, and [[wikipedia:GetGo|GetGo]] (formerly [[wikipedia:GetGo#Ricker's|Ricker's]]) on Saint Joe Road yet reveals her final southeast side store was the [[Southgate Plaza (Fort Wayne)|Southgate Plaza]] Kroger location on Pettit Avenue, in which she also got a deal on an [[wikipedia:air fryer|air fryer]] for $40 that Ava could not pass up. Caprice gets angry at Ava taking down her cat perch and threw away her cat tree to prepare for the move, in which Caprice retaliates by attacking Ava and Breeanna while hissing at the former 20 times throughout the episode.

Meanwhile, things take a dramatic turn as Ava got a surprise move-out inspection at Black Pine Flats and not having a lot of time to get things ready for the move-out inspection, even worse, Ava is informed that the move-in at Golfview was changed to November 1, leaving Ava at her wit's end. Caprice, Ella, and Ava get into battle mode as the latter, clad in her "Rambo Ava" clothing in a similar manner of [[Ava Willis (Queen of the Willis)|her animated]] ''[[Queen of the Willis]]'' counterpart reveals the surprise move-out inspection was "1999 average" while Caprice's tail goes puffy after she hears a YouTube video Ava plays titled "Angry Kitten at the Vet."

Ava finally learns via a [[wikipedia:WANE-TV|WANE 15 News]] story from Andy Devine four months after the fact. On what was supposed to be moving day, Ava does laundry in addition to getting new pet ID tags for Caprice and Ella at the [[wikipedia:Jefferson Pointe|Apple Glen Boulevard]] location of [[wikipedia:PetSmart|PetSmart]] as well as [[wikipedia:Best Buy|Best Buy]]. Breeanna meets with Ava in New Haven at the [[wikipedia:Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles|BMV]], where Ava finally passes her driver's test to get her driver's permit renewed after 23 years. That weekend, one of Ava's neighbors at Black Pine Flats moves out as it is revealed he is now a homeowner, something Ava has attempted in 2008 in Marion and 2022 in Fort Wayne.

===Part 15/Conclusion===

On the day of the move, Caprice and Ella misbehaves as Caprice's tactics prompted Ava to put her in the restroom and Ella in the shared pet crate for nearly 12 hours. The move went bad at first, yet things ended up working out. The following day, Ava is reeling in from the overall damages to her physical health as the one flight of stairs proved costly for Ava because of the lack of an elavator. It will take some time to adjust after Ava picked up the two items (a metal bucket and lighter fluid) that was left behind at Black Pine Flats. 

Caprice, Ella, and Ava fully settled in at Golfview after a brutal, expensive since Ava's November 1983 move from Chicago to Mill Township, Indiana, which at the time was $1,500 ($4,433 in 2022 dollars) {{Inflation/fn|US}}), and dangerous move.  |ShortSummary = The fourteen-part miniseries comes to a close as Ava makes final trips to stores on the southeast side of Fort Wayne as well as Waynedale. The packing up continued as Breeanna Sorensen (herself) effetively helps Ava gets things taken down such as Caprice's cat perch and cat tree, of which Caprice retalliates by attacking and hissing at Breeanna yet Ella takes this adjustment well yet humps Breeanna's leg in the process. The stress and pressure finally caught up to Ava as a mid-term in Ethics, a test in Quantitive Reasoning, and two Raster Grphics assignments were more than Ava could take. Breeanna explains on what was supposed to be the day of the move from Black Pine Flats to Golfview Apartments on September 30, 2022 yet extended until October 21, 2022 as things between Black Pine Flats, Fort Wayne Housing Authority, Golfview Apartments, and others are being ironed out. Ava and Breeanna head out to Walmart and Kroger, the latter's Southgate Plaza location in Fort Wayne turned out to be the final store Ava went to as a resident of the southeast side of Fort Wayne. 

Things take a dramatic turn as Ava received a surprise move-out inspection at Black Pine Flats and not having a lot of time to get things ready for the move-out inspection, even worse, Ava is informed that the move-in at Golfview was changed to November 1, leaving Ava at her wit's end. 

Ava finally learns the truth via a [[wikipedia:WANE-TV|WANE 15 News]] and on what was supposed to be moving day, Ava does laundry in addition to getting new pet ID tags for Caprice and Ella at [[wikipedia:PetSmart|PetSmart]] as well as [[wikipedia:Best Buy|Best Buy]]. Breeanna meets with Ava in New Haven, where Ava finally passes her driver's test to get her peermit renewed after 23 years. That weekend, one of Ava's neighbors at Black Pine Flats moves out as it is revealed he is now a homeowner, something Ava has attempted in 2008 in Marion and 2022 in Fort Wayne.

After a brutal and rocky move that Ava wasn't expecting, Ava spent most of the night of the move getting adjusted yet longer for Caprice and Ella to adjust. Ava has to deal with one flight of stairs as Golfview lacks an elavator, which could prove costly should Ava have a broken leg or foot, or even paralyzed. 

The miniseries' final scene reveals Caprice, Ella, and Ava fully settled in at Golfview after a brutal, expensive since Ava's November 1983 move from Chicago to Mill Township, Indiana, which at the time was $1,500 ($4,433 in 2022 dollars) {{Inflation/fn|US}}), and dangerous move. It is revealed by [[Rachael Passalt]] that Ava spent five months and $4,750 on the move.

The miniseries ends with a parody of the 1988 series finale of the original Magnum, P.I. plus a tribute to Ragdoll Kitty and Grey Poupon (both died during the early stages of production of this miniseries) with Johnny Mathis' "Once Before I Go." The miniseries was produced by the Ava Zinn-owned Aeverine Zinn Digital Media Group and Aeverine Zinn Productions, with Zinn serving as the executive producer. Zinn noted that no one initially had little interest in adapting ''Breaking Boiling Point'' due to its grisly middle part. Zinn had started to plan production of ''[[Caprice & Ella: The Movie]]'' in June 2022, but that production was pushed back to July 2023.

Because the miniseries spans 15 season four episodes in the original airing, yet Zinn made it a 20-part episode for the syndicated version. 

Caprice, Ella, and Ava Zinn reprise their ''Caprice & Ella'' roles for the miniseries, yet [[Breeanna Sorensen]], [[Rachael Passalt]], and [[Karly Jameson]] were added to the cast. 

===Deleted scenes===
In Part 10 of the miniseries, making good on her threat of legal action (defined by Ava as also getting the [[wikipedia:Fort Wayne Police Department|Fort Wayne Police Department]] involved), Ava secures the services of a well-known low cost law firm, which hears her argument yet doesn't take the case, but warns her that it will be difficult to pursue without hard evidence. 

Ava later confronts the propery manager of Black Pine Flats (with Caprice & Ella in tow as well as a Fort Wayne police officer) about her lease not being renewed and the new place not being ready. However, despite this setback, things begin to turn around when what is close to a Plan B (stay at Black Pine by paying $620 instead of the $82 in rent she has been paying or staying at a pet-friendly hotel in the meantime) until the apartment at Golfview is ready as part of a settlement/transitional agreement per the [[wikipedia:Fair Housing Act|Fair Housing Act]]. Ava stands firm, reminding the Black Pine Flats property manager, identified as "Bitch Becky" by Caprice, that as per the conditions of the Fair Housing Act, the settlement and Indiana law, this cannot be done until after the apartment at Golfview is ready and has been 100 percent resolved (by which time, as Ava threatens to "kick her ass up Decatur (Road) and down Tillman (Road)" and is now too late as the emotional damage was done).

===Critical reception===
Several critics panned the miniseries for its gruesome content before the miniseries aired. They also cited the use of profanity from Caprice, Ella, Breeanna, and Ava with being bleep censored 107, 25, 4, 259 times, respectively, on the broadcast version. Professors did not like the fact Zinn effectively rushed through a lot of her assignments during production of the miniseries.

Others praised Ava's decision to produce the miniseries with her commitements at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne as well as other obligations and the relocation from Black Pine Flats to Golfview Apartments in Fort Wayne itself.

==Music==
The opening theme is "Theme from [[wikipedia:MacGyver (1985 TV series)|''MacGyver'']]" performed by Daniel Caine and the ending theme is from the series finale of the [[wikipedia:Magnum, P.I.|original run of ''Magnum, P.I.'']].
