Zinn was born Ashli Lynne Barrington to Angie Willis (b. 1978 d. 2010) and Aaron Barrington (b. 1974 d. 2000) and raised in Upland, Indiana. After her biological father died of overdose of meth, Ashli was raised by her then-stepfather, internet television personality/webmaster Frank Zinn (now adopted father Ava Zinn). Ashli has a half-sister Tabitha (b.2003 d. 2018). Just days shy of Ashli's 12th birthday, her mother died of a heart attack.
