Plot[edit]

In this three-hour season finale, the discovery of a body in a foot locker in an exhumed grave, opens the 1983 murder case of an 25-year-old woman, Kristen Buckelew, who had been recovering from injuries she sustained in an explosion and died from cardiac arrest despite good prognosis.

Two female nurses Bridget Butler and Kate Jamison and a third–Drew Planucchio (Averi Planucchio's transgendered sister)– became the hospital's first openly transgendered nurse. Most of the nurses, doctors and the staff, were violently unhappy with the change, giving the detectives a plethora of suspects. All three women stuck it out and seemed to excel at everything thrown at them, was still reviled.

As Lilly Rush identified Drew Planucchio of Detropolis, Ohio as the main suspect, however, when she drives out to question and arrest him in Detropolis, she sees a car that was side-swiped off a bridge off I-72 near Piqua, Ohio.

Rush manages to call 911 and tries to help get the crash victims to safety. She learns that Brittany, Emilie, Rhonda, Hillary, Suzanne and Luanne crashed after finding out from Ohio State Police Averi Planucchio was driving drunk and was sending a text to her sister Drew.

Though she may have been shaken up, she continues her destination to Averi Planucchio's home in Detropolis informing Drew that Averi was killed in the car accident and also arrest him in the 1983 murder of Kristen Buckelew, however, Lilly Rush, Benjamin the Tiger, and Jacob Morris find Drew hanging from a window in Averi’s house and a clue at the scene tells our cops that it’s murder, not suicide.

Back in Quillsville, QMPD begins their investigation of the case anew, to discover the actual murderer and his accomplice (identified as Parker Quinn and Linsey Orville), who was determined to protect the hospital from incompentent quacks like Mario Coxson. After Quinn and Orville were taken into custody, Lilly says that she has to be the bearer of bad news and goes to the Willis' house setting up for the next episode.
