"Quillsville Cold Case: Daddie Dearest" is the tenth episode of the thirteenth season of the American animated television series Queen of the Willis. It originally aired in broadcast syndication in the United States on November 8, 2024 as a two-hour movie. In the episode, new evidence of a mass murder case from 1995 is found, Captain Brad Hunter, who worked on the case as a rookie cop and Lieutenant Nick Jeffries, who worked on the case as a detective, sets out to find the killer, fulfilling the promise he made to the victim's daughter and Captain Hunter's sister Brenda 29 years ago. QMPD reinvestigate a the shooting in 1995, where two sixteen year old boys (who are from a local street gang) killed fifteen bystanders (Captain Hunter's father, Brad, Sr. was one of them) at the upper-class community of Quill Dwenger and wounded 30 others before turning their guns on themselves when footage from a recently discovered video camera suggests there was a third shooter who got away.
This episode features the introduction of Sergeant Detective Jana Miller (voiced by Marla McClinton). The episode was written by Jacqui Fountaine and directed by Season Atkins.

Plot[edit]
September 23, 1995
Neal Coulter and Christian Hanlon are videotaping themselves driving to an affluent Quillsville neighborhood on a Saturday evening, scanning the area for targets and having fun. They mention about entering another dimension and the "9th Circle of Hell", otherwise known as "Quill Dwenger". They "Einne Meanie Minie Mo" between a little girl and a teen transgender girl, then landing on the boy, later identified as Darla, as they say "Mo". Neal comments that it's "home slice's lucky day". Christian pulls out a shotgun and says, "A regular Saturday night in America's richiest neigborhood". They start shooting everyone in their sights. Everyone is screaming and the boys continue shooting and laughing.
Cut to a 1995 newscast from Fox 11 anchors Bob Donaldson and Karly Ryder: "Weeks after, the city of Quillsville is still reeling after two teenage gunmen opened fire at the affluent Quill Dwenger community, killing 15 bystanders before taking their own lives." Cut to the evidence room where someone is putting up all the boxes from each victim of the shooting (Brad Hunter, Sr., Captain Hunter's father, was one of the 15 victims).

Officers Jarrett Dailey, Elaine Reed, Kymberly Millspaugh and Ramona Battishill are walking outside at Robyn & Holly's Vegetarian Buffet, discussing speculation how the Lieutenant Nick Jeffries still has Sergeant Lilly Rush "in a deep freeze over the Cara Loft case". At the restaurant, they run into Captain Brad Hunter, Lt. Jeffries, Sgt. Rush and Det. Jana Miller enjoying a Big Ten Cheese Pizza (as Det. Miller ate the 10-pound 10-cheese pizza in 8 minutes 17 seconds and becoming only the second person after Tabby Willis did so in "The Story of Melissa's Mother"). Captain Hunter asks if they remember the Coulter/Hanlon case of '95. Long overdue renovations and improvements at the upper-class neighborhood uncovered a video tape of the massacre that killed Brad's father.
Cut to everyone viewing the tape at the station. Jane Miller, Nick Jeffries, Jarrett Dailey, Elaine Reed, Kymberly Millspaugh, Ramona Battishill, Lilly Rush, and Brad Hunter are all standing around making comments on the victims' testimonies and the evidence on the tape. Brad notices that the gunman hands the video camera over and asks that part be seen again. Lilly announces: "third shooter".
Lilly, Nick, and Brad are looking through the evidence boxes. Nick reads aloud Christian's illustrated journal: "I am the Destroyer, The Apocalypse, The Widow Maker. I am a rifle. I am a gun. Look down the barrel of my hate; we're going to have some fun."
They discuss Christian's journal, Neal's artwork, and how all of the classmates knew of their plans but no one took them seriously. They discusss what they know about the boys: "The boys were juniors at Quillsville Central (now Lee Kelso High School). Christian was a counter boy at Burger Chef Red Robyn; Neal pushed a broom at the grocery chain Scott's (now Kroger in Quillsville)." The detectives think that the third shooter probably worked at the nearby Dwenger Shoppes (where Kroger, TJ Maxx, Rual King, Burger Chef Red Robyn and Maribel's Sabo Pharmacy are located) as well. They find out that Christian's family moved to New York state, but Neal's family still lives in the area.
Cut to Neal's house. His father talks about how Neal was a good, polite boy. That he was more of a follower than a leader. He mentions his online game playing with Dalton Moore (one of the survivors). Dalton was a close friend of Christian and Neal but became a bully once they were in high school.
Flashback: The evening of September 23, 1995, after the shooting spree
Sirens are wailing, a mob of people are frantic and yelling, and the police are escorting the survivors out of the neighborhood. As different survivors are walking out, we see Neal's parents. Tara, Tony, and Dalton walk out to embrace their families. Neal's parents are wondering if more are coming. A police officer (identified as Rayvon Battishill at the time now Ramona Battishill) tells Neal's parents that they need to come with him because he believes Neal is involved with the shooting.

Cut back to Neal's dad. "Everyone blamed us. We were an ordinary family." Nick mentions that "ordinary families don't have assault rifles at home". Mr. Coulter gets defensive saying "a man has a right to his hobbies" as well as defending the Second Amendment.
At the police station, Dalton asks for the door to remain open as Rush and Miller walk in. He's uncomfortable with being in a closed room. They ask about his relationship with Christian and Neal. He gives short answers and is very jumpy. He admits that "The Widow Maker" was his online ID but he stopped playing with the boys long before the incident. He thought they were freaks and that they took the game too seriously.
Flashback: 1995, a couple of months before the shooting
Darla, Dalton, and a group of boys and transgirls are sitting outsiide Scott's, talking about other kids and making fun of them. They call over Neal, who is working, and Darla throws a fry on the floor for Neal to "fucking clean that up, you son a bitch". Neal sweeps it up and starts to walk away but then Darla throws his burger on the ground. Neal picks up the hamburger, takes a bite and stares down Darla. At this point, Christian walks over and says, "Someone should take an Uzi to this store", and pretends to shoot Darla.

Back at the police station, Dalton claims that he had been a jerk and he blames himself.
At Lilly's home, Lilly Rush is looking at a yearbook. Lilly's transgendered girlfriend Krista Beck is next to her in bed, talking about the possible third shooter. They start kissing. Phone rings. Officer Elaine Reed calls about security footage from both the neighborhood and Scott's. Lilly tells Krista she "better get some sleep now" because she "won't get much later".
At the police station, Reed, Miller, and Rush view the tape. At the time of the shooting, 40 people were trapped in the wing. The third shooter couldn't have gotten out, so they determined he's posing as a survivor.
Later at the station, Rush and Miller are updating Captain Brad Hunter with no news of the third shooter after interviewing numerous survivors all morning and Hunter mentions that it is personal as his father, Brad, Sr. was one of the 15 who died. Elaine Reed walks in with news that the video camera was stolen from the Scott's store a few days before the attack and that survivor Gabrielle "Gabby" Schuller (sister of Scott Schuller) was a stock girl there.
In the Lieutenant's office, Jeffries asks Officer Kymberly Millspaugh to come in and close the door. Jeffries mentions that they have a nincomphile from the 2000's that is going to court and that Millspaugh's daughter, Michelle, may have been a victim back when she was twelve. Millspaugh denies that Michelle is involved and doesn't want to look at the file. Jeffries insists since the guy is still a coach until he goes to court. Millspaugh walks out of the office with the file.
At a horse stable, Gabby is grooming a horse while Miller interviews her and asks her about a possible third shooter. Gabby admits she doesn't remember much. She brings up the video camera stolen from what is now Kroger store. She denies taking it.
Flashback: 1995, just days before the shooting
Tina Holloway comes up to Gabby, asking him for a distraction because she needs to get a camera. In the background, Darla is kissing a girl. Gabby and Tina talk about Darla being a tranny slut. Tina had slept with Darla some time ago but she had ditched her. Even though she called her names, she still longs to be with her. While Tina and Gabby talk, she grabs the camera and puts it in her bag. Gabby has a crush on her and gives her a smile as she walks away.

Back at the stables, Gabby mentions that Tina was a lost soul and they drifted apart when she dropped out of school after the shooting.
At a restaurant where Tina Holloway is working, Rush and Jeffries are asking Tina how the video camera got into the boys' hands. She is surprised at the news that the camera she stole earlier was used to record the shooting spree. She says security busted her and took the camera.
Flashback: 1995, at the store security office
The security guard, Barry George, says he's going to have to call her parents when suddenly they are interrupted. He tells her "to stay put" but she sneaks off and follows him to the surveillance room. He is showing Christian and Neal the real cameras and the dummy cameras. The boys mention how they could shoot up the place and no one would see. Barry says no one would care and he would love to see the look on people's faces when it was happening.

Back at the restaurant, Tina tells Rush she thinks Barry was just a loser and he never wound up calling her parents. She thinks he probably just kept the camera for himself.
Cut to Barry's current job. Millspaugh and Dailey ask Barry about the stolen camera and the shootout. He denies any wrongdoing, reminding them that he was shot himself. Millspaugh and Dailey talk about how they think it went down, and Barry admits that the boys stole the camera off of his desk. He said he showed them the surveillance room because the boys showed him respect. Barry said it didn't matter anyway because the boys weren't trying to avoid the cameras; they wanted to be seen.
Flashback: September 23, 1995, the shooting
Barry comes out of the elevator and is shot in the stomach. Tina peers around the corner. The two shooters walk away. Barry crawls over to Tina and she tries to save him by encouraging him to survive. Dalton walks around the corner and says "I did this... all of it... it's all my fault".

At Barry's job, Millspaugh asks what he thought Dalton meant. Barry said he's not sure... and reveals that he is in a wheel chair as he wheels himself away.
In the interrogation room, Dalton paces nervously. Rush and Jeffries tell him they know he's the third shooter. Rush plays a portion of the tape. Dalton cries for it to stop and gets up to leave. Jeffries pulls Dalton's face over to the TV screen. Dalton admits he tried to stop them (Darla and the others) because of what happened earlier that day.
Flashback: September 23, 1995, an hour before the shooting
Friends of Darla are out in the store office hallway, listening against a door. Darla is with Tina alone in the office and there are some noises coming from the room. Darla comes out and pulls Tina's underwear from his pocket. Tina tries to leave but the boys won't let her. Dalton says to let her go but Darla pushes him away. The boys start tearing at Tina's clothes and they push her back into the room. One boy or transgirl doesn't participate in the attack and is holding Dalton against the wall. Tina is screaming while the other boys, including Dalton are sexually assaulting her. Gabby walks by and hears her screaming. She tries to help her, but the boys beat him up and walk off. Dalton tells gabby he tried to stop them but Gabby shouts, "I'll put a motherfucking bullet in all your God Damed heads!"

Back in interrogation room, Dalton says he tried to stop them. It was an hour before the shooting and he should have stopped them.
Later in the interrogation room, Miller and Millspaugh are with Gabby. They tell her how they think it all went down... how she knew Christian and Neal had guns and how she knew their plans. Gabby denies that she did anything.
Flashback: September 23, 1995, before the shooting
Gabby tries to console Tina. She says they should go to the police. She won't go to the police because she still likes Darla and says she didn't force her. gabby is upset with this news and coldly states that they shouldn't go to the police, "what's the big deal?". Stunned, Tina walks away and walks right up to Christian and Neal who just walked out of Scott's.

Back in the interrogation room, Gabby says she should have stopped her but she didn't believe anything bad would happen. Jeffries walks in and tells Rush and Millspaugh that Tina just drove to the neighborhood with a gun.
At the neighborhood, Tina sits with a gun. The police have surrounded her. Lilly Rush and Ava Willis walks over to talk with her. They talk about the incident. She feels guilty that innocent people died and got hurt because of her pain.
Flashback: September 23, 1995, right before the shooting
Tina goes up to Christian and Neal and taunts them about making a porn film. Then she tells them she'll make them famous by videotaping them while they shoot up the place, which they had bragged about. Christian suggests killing Tina first, who asks if she was dead, who was going to make them famous. Christian reluctantly agrees. Neal asks what the plan is. She looks toward Dalra and his friends and says, "Kill all those motherfuckers and cocksuckers...Kill everybody!" After Neal and Christian mess around with the camera, the shooting begins and she is shocked that they are really shooting everyone, not just the boys/transgirls who attacked her earlier. Neal shoves the camera into Tina's hands. He pulls out his gun and says "Everyone", then starts shooting. She runs and hides and the boys keep laughing and shooting. As Tina looks back, she sees the boys shake hands and say, "It's the end", and then shoot themselves. Tina's sobbing and throws the camera behind a vent. She looks around and sees blood and dead bodies everywhere.

The slow motion video montage shows Rush escorting Tina out of Quill Dwenger in handcuffs. Jeffries is collecting the evidence and putting it back into the boxes. Miller and Millspaugh are returning the boxes back to the evidence room. The Coulter family is eating dinner together as the image of Christian and Neal look on. Then we see framed pictures of Neal through the years sitting on the shelf. Cuts to Gabby walking her horse, Barry is feeding his grandson in a highchair, Dalton is shown enjoying the sunshine on his face and watching people outside, Ava, her sister Mandy, Angie, her sister Laura, with Rhonda, Brittany, Emilie, Hillary, Luanne, Suzanne, Tabby, Shushu, Alaina, Pheobe, and Heather on the floor looking at Albert's yearbook from his junior year at Quillsville Central, Captain Brad Hunter kneels at his father's gravesite at Crown Quill Cemetery; Millspaugh is looking at the picture of her sister, Michelle, and the other kids wearing boxing gear; they are all involved in the case. Lilly Rush is in bed with Krista Beck looking at a young picture of Tina Holloway. As she snuggles up to Krista's shoulder in bed, the picture fades to black.
