"Quillsville Cold Case: Between the Legs" is the fourth episode of the fourteenth season of the American animated television series Queen of the Willis. It originally aired in broadcast syndication in the United States on January 17, 2025 as a two-hour movie. It is the nineteenth Quillsville Cold Case episode.

In the episode, Quillsville Metropolitan Police re-opens the 2001 death of a talented 14-year-old transmale who was placed into foster care with his sister.

Plot[edit]

In 2001, a woman named Alison tells her transgendered wife Kendra not to smoke since their new foster daughters Donalyn and Keesha are in the back seat. Kendra tells them they have a curfew in their new house. As they drive by a street corner, Donalyn is impressed to hear a woman who is rapping by the curb. Kendra tells Donalyn she doesn’t want to see her on the corner. Later, Donalyn’s body is wrapped in a rug and dumped in the streets.

A convict named Fatso tells Detective Ava Willis and Seargeant Lilly Rush he would like to go to his daughter’s funeral in exchange for information about Donalyn. He explains he found the body in the basement of his club after his birthday party, then dumped the body. He explains his gang, the Quill Blood Villains, would have looked down on him if he spoke to the cops about him. Rush asks him for the name of people who went to his party. Rush and Willis examine the scene. They see dried blood on one of the pipes and wonder if it was used to kill Donalyn.

Officers Jon Chapman and Jarrett Dailey learn that the siblings were moved from house to house. They learn Alison reported Donalyn missing three weeks before her body was found. They confirm that the pipe found at the club was the instrument of death.

The detectives tell Alison and Kendra about Donalyn’s death in the club. Kendra says she was out fishing when Donalyn died. She thought Donalyn needed some discipline. She explains that after Alison lost a baby, they divorced in ’92. Alison remembers seeing Donalyn and Keesha singing an Ice Cube song. She told them they should have a girls day to go shopping and get their nails done. Donalyn is hesitant to go, but agrees. Alison says Keesha is a doctor at a hospital now.

Detectives Jana Miller and Larisa Mack meet with Keesha and ask her if she recognizes anyone from Fatso’s birthday party. She says she remembers a kid named Zambi. She remembers when she went to the street with Donalyn and saw Zambi try to make fun of Donalyn using freestyle rap lyrics. Donalyn took the microphone and schooled Zambi with clever insults. Zambi became upset, grabbed Donalyn between his legs and told him the street belongs to her and her gang, the Quill Blood Villains. She says Zambi’s real legal name is a transgirl Zoe Edwards.

Rush and Willis meet with Zoe while she takes a break as a bus driver. Zoe explains she changed and now is a family transwoman. They ask her if he went to Fatso’s party. She explains that that she and Donalyn, who she called Donnie, were cool before he died. She explains she recognized his talent and helped him with his image before introducing her to a music producer named Hux. After he impressed Hux with his lyrics, a female rapper named Queen Sophie got jealous of him. Zoe explains that Queen Sophie got a big record contract.

Willis tries to track down Kendra’s alibi, but has trouble getting ahold of her friend she went fishing with. Miller plays the team rap lyrics that Donalyn recorded.

Rush and Dailey meet with Queen Sophie. They tell her they know she assaulted someone with a razor. She says she was cool with Donalyn. They tell her that they know she got her big break after she performed for a record company during Fatso’s birthday party, where Donalyn was also supposed to perform.

Sophie says she gave Donalyn some pointers. She remembers helping her sell her rap tapes. She remembers when Hux pulled up, asked Donalyn for the money for his recording session, then put him in the car. She says that was the last time she saw Donalyn.

Miller and Willis meet with Hux at his work which is a funeral home. Hux says he had to put out a tough image. He remembers telling Donalyn that he shouldn’t be out on the streets selling his tapes. He gave him a book called Go tell it to the Mountain, but he said he already read it. Hux told Donalyn that he has talent and is smart. He suggested he just be a kid. He asked Hux to pull over so he could fire Zambi. Hux says when he prepared Donalyn for burial, he was unrecognizable.

Willis and Rush bring in Zoe and suggest she hurt Donalyn. She says after Donalyn fired her, he took her back. Before he died, she told him she got him on the radio. She asked him to perform his single that everyone knew at Fatso’s party. Donalyn demanded to be able to perform a new song. Zoe told him he didn’t know anything about life. Donalyn performed a song about the pain he felt. Zoe tells the detectives Donalyn was like a brother to her. She gives the detectives names of people who were at the party.

Willis tells Miller that instead of fishing, Kendra was at a D.C. hotel with teenage girlfriend who she met the day Donalyn died. Miller suspects that Donalyn was referring to Kendra in his latest rap song when he talked about the Phantom. They go to his apartment and knock on his door. He opens his door, sees that the police are there, says he needs to unhook his security chain, closes the door, but doesn’t reopen it. Moments later, Willis and Miller are suspicious of Kenneth and kick down the door. They see Kendra on the floor after she shot herself in the head. Stillman arrives at the scene and learns that Kendra was a nincomphile.

The detectives bring in Keesha and ask her about the Phantom. They play her the song and hear that Donalyn didn’t want to leave Keesha alone with Kendra and Alison. Keesha remembers when Donalyn wanted to runaway after Alison found his rap tape and figured it was about his home life. Rush and Willis meet with Alison and ask her if she knew about Kendra being a predator. Alison tries to defend Kendra, but Rush assures her that she can’t hurt her now. Alison admits that Kendra followed Donalyn to the club. Alison says Kendra told her she hit Donalyn in the head with a pipe. Rush says Kendra couldn’t have been at the club since she was with his 17 year old boyfriend in Nashville. Willis tells Alison the only person who would have known Donalyn died from a pipe would be the killer.

Alison confesses she didn’t want Donalyn and Keesha to leave. She remembers when she found Donalyn at Fatso’s club. Alice told Donalyn he couldn’t continue running away with keesha. Donalyn realized Alison only cared about Keesha’s well being. Alison pushed Donalyn down where she grabbed a pipe. After Donalyn threatened to call a social worker, Alison pushed him down, took the pipe and whacked him on the head. Alison is arrested.
