Alisan Leah Porter is a fictional character voiced by the former child actress and singer of the same name on the animated sitcom Queen of the Willis. She is a former professional basketball player and in 2019 relocated back to Quillsville, Indiana after spending the last 30 years in Boston.

Character[edit]

Alisan Porter is characterized as a friendly, soft-spoken, former cheerleader who had a relationship with Ava Willis in elementary school or middle school. She is the high school friend and since the the 8th season, neighbor of the characters Ava Willis, Melissa Rose, Karly Jameson, Kendra Kendall, and was a long-time friend of Tiffani Donovan and Anna Pamhouser–the former died in "The Rape of Heather Willis" while Pamhouser was comatose for three years .

In the episode "Ten Years to Life", it was revealed she is a rabid fan of the New England Patriots (the Colts-Patriots rivalry became a problem that led to Ava ending the relationship Alisan as Ava, Melissa, Kendra, Pamhouser, and Karly are fans of the Indiana Colts and Indiana Pacers) and formerly played center, with Avril Lavinge playing small forward, Tiffani Donovan was the shooting guard, Anna Pamhouser playing guard, Cynthia Wilson playing forward, and Karly Jameson playing power forward for Quillsville Central High School (now Babyface High School).

In the four-part episode "The Rape of Heather Willis", she ran for Quillsville Mayor in the Democratic primary, but lost to Republican challenger Nicole Pence, who would have won against 10-term incimbent Lee Kelso in the Republican Primary.

In The Girls Are Back in Quillsville, Alisan moves in to the house formerly occupied by Lando Abhrams (6336 West Evansville Road), which places her on the same side of the alley as Melissa (6320 West Evansville Road), Ava (at 6328 West Evansville Road), Avril (at 6342 West Evansville Road) and the opposite side of the alley as Anna Pamhouser (6345 West Henderson Avenue), Karly Jameson (6341 West Henderson Avenue), Kendra Kendall (formerly shared with Tiffani Donovan at 6335 West Henderson Avenue) and Sharane Hamilton (6325 West Henderson Avenue).

Alisan's primary pursuits, like Pamhosuer's are Boston sports (the aforementioned New England Patriots of the NFL, Boston Celtics of the NBA, Boston Bruins of the NHL, and Boston Red Sox of the MLB–the latter two sports), classic cars and men. She drives a classic Chevy Malibu she drove the same car in high school for 35 years.

She spends most of her spare time drinking Mississinewa Cola with Karly, Avril, Pamhouser, Ava, Melissa and Kendra in the alley behind Ava's house. While she enjoys her friendship with Karly, Pamhouser and Ava, and like Karly, she sometimes has limited patience with Melissa and considered Kendra "boring" due to her the fact Melissa and Kendra are transwomen though Ava is superior.

Alisan, Avril and Karly as well as three of the main characters (Ava, Melissa, and Pamhouser) graduated from Quillsville Central High School (later Kenneth "Babyface" Edmunds Regional High School, now Lee Kelso High School) together (Kendra nor Tiffani did not complete their senior year having enlisted in the U.S. Marines) in 1991. Porter played center, Karly played power forward while Anna Pamhouser was the starting point guard for the girls basketball team, while Tiffani was a the shooting guard, Cynthia Wilson was a forward, and Avril Lavinge was a small forward on the girls basketball team. Karly, Alisan, Pamhouser and Tiffani were also cheerleaders for the football and boys basketball as Ava played center (her #41 jersey is retired as she scored a most three pointers), Kendra (who has since returned to Quillsville after living in Michiana Falls, Indiana and transiitioned to female) played guard, and Melissa, not being as athletic as her friends, was the towel manager for both basketball teams and football teams.

Development[edit]

Alisan Porter provides the fictionalised version of herself.

Queen of the Willis creator Ava Zinn and her now-ex-girlfriend Kymberly Alvaraz found Porter's performance on the tenth season of The Voice as well as her performance in the 1991 movie Curly Sue very intriguing and outstanding, Zinn created a similar character for Queen of the Willis and as an archrival to Josh Kaufman, whom two years earlier infamously won "The Voice" and like Porter, also was a contestant on "Star Search".

She is known as the very first boyfriend of Ava Willis and has a son Dylan Porter. </ref>

The character we've created is kind of this alternate-universe Alisan Porter and Josh Kaufman where they are former classmates of Ava Willis and unlike Lee Kelso and Lilly Rush, we have made their references to Vote for the Girls and "Star Search", because we like keeping that separate. It's the obvious place to go. We tried it; we thought it would be funny to do something different with Alisan and Josh.
